The T8i is a light weight 1/8 scale motor for indoors or small outdoor tracks. Many may like the feel on large tracks as well due to the smooth bottom end and controllable power. It is about the same length as a T8 but 36mm dia instead of 40mm, 38mm including the fins.

We do not expect it to replace the T8. It is a specific built motor for those that are chasing the light and nimble side of 1/8E instead of raw power and hang on...

Oops wrong thread.. But still cool and goes with this controller so I will leave it.

There isn't a thread for any esc on any forum without plenty of people showing up saying their esc died for no reason. It's certainly been good to me, would have been nice if they timed the gen2 launch better so stock wasn't so dry for so long. It's a valid complaint. "have some patience" is a lazy response, usually made by people who aren't looking to purchase new vehicles/escs anyway so don't have any skin in the game and just want to stir the pot.

You've added nothing to the discussion.
First, locally we have had a lot of people returning the RX-8s when they used them in 8th scale buggies. E-Buggy is relatively new, so equipment will take some time to adapt. You don't think Tekin loses a bit of money with every return?

My comments do add something to the conversation in that maybe it will possibly open some people's eyes into what Tekin is trying to do, but are not able to say. Tekin has a business to run, and turning out an inferior product when a better one is close at hand is bad business. You obviously don't run your own business or you would understand that.

So what exactly does whining about something you cannot control add to the conversation. That would be nothing.

I do have skin in the matter, I am waiting for my back ordered Gen 2 RX-8 to power my Tekno 4wd short course. I would rather wait for a superior and more reliable product. Trust me, I looked under evey rock for a new RX-8, and could not find one. I am use to getting the products in the RC industry when I want to, but in this case and after looking at all of the options out there the Tekin RX-8 is the best one so I had to wait.

Sorry you cannot, but please by all means keep feeling that the words "be patient" is a lazy answer. It's been my experience. With everything in life that patience will get you a lot farther, than not having any.

By the way crying about or how Tekin handled this will not get them out the door any quicker.

Reread that to make sure, seems like maybe "whining" and "crying" mean something different where you are?

"I would rather wait for a superior and more reliable product."

Ok? Go for it? Why would this somehow compel you to inject yourself into a conversation between people who know (from experience) that the rx8gen1 is great and we'd like to purchase it right now, or better yet 2 months ago?

I am waiting for a gen2 for a buggy, I have the capacity to both wish I could purchase a new gen1 rx8 right now for a reasonable price and also wait for a gen2. Crazy multitasking right?

Sounds like we'll get gen2 soon.

I wish you all the best, thanks for helping me pass the time.

Sorry but that only downloads to the Tekin software, not to a file... And I could not find a file on the computer, so seems to not write to the HD of the computer...

Can someone from Tekin let us know if we can down the data from the Speedo to a file? If not... Ok, but if so... how....

I asked the same question a long time ago and this is not an option now. The data logging and all of the features that go with it will be in constant developement as they get more feedback learn more about it's capability with programming ect. If there are things you would like to see with the data logging don't be shy to ask but at the same time not everything will be able to be added but they are still working on developing that side of these Gen 2 speedo's.

It is saved to a file in the Hotwire directory in the programs directory, but it is encrypted and not useful for anything but with the hotwire. The file extension is .tek so you can search by that criteria to locate where they are if needed.

You can change the path when saving and put it anywhere you want. You can also specify a path when opening a datalog file to look anywhere you want. IE a directory you made in mydocuments or a thumb drive.

Well unless you download the newest version of the Hotwire posted yesterday it is not there These are new features in the new version that were not in the previous version. I should have posted it here as well since it is the first official release with software for the Rx8gen2.

We have released a new version of the Hotwire software on our website that improves the functions of the data logging, and has the software for the new Rx8gen2.

There is no update for the RSgen2 esc and we are still using version 238. The initial Rx8gen2 units went out with 236 in them. Everyone should update to the final 238 version to make all features work correctly.

Data logging now has a cursor for exact values at a point and allows you to save and recall data log files. You do not have to have an esc plugged into the hotwire to open a data file for any gen2 esc.
