I still love mine. Original Nitro Stampede. It has to be at least 15yrs old. Other cars come and go, but the pede stays!

I wanted to drag this thread back to life. Was out of R/C for a while now getting back in. Anyone still run these? I picked up a couple Rustlers for me and my son but have been itching to get back to a Stampede.

One configuration I've been liking is to use slash rear arms, slash RPM front offset compensating arms, and wide offset wheels (stampede fronts) on all 4 corners. same stance as the regular stampede but front and rears are the same wheel offset.

I bought an old 2WD Stampede off of eBay many years ago after being away from the hobby since the early 90s. It's helped me learn all about Lipo batteries, brushless motors and more technology that didn't exist back then. I still have it and LOVE it. Bash around the backyard while my dog chases it. I've posted a bunch of updates on it in here not realizing this post existed.

My old Stampede build up (a work in progress)

im kicking around picking up a used one, been checking ebay about once a month. while i don't like traxxas as a company you can't argue with the parts or aftermarket support for the truck. im surprised how cheap they are, sliders are going for around $100.
i do remember the trucks came with 0 degrees of rear toe, everyone seems to run slash arms, but i think my move will be the RPM gear case to add the toe mixed with RPM arms and wide front arms. should be a pretty decent low buck basher after that.

I'm using this arm setup on my Rustler, Stampede and Slash, works great for me apart from the CVD shaft issues.
I'm using different CVDs on all my trucks, old MIP, Tekno, and STRC, they all have the same problem of the shaft is too long and bottoms out before suspension does.

I'm still using the HD plastic sliders from Traxxas. You can cut them to length.

i just picked up a 2wd Stampede "slider" off ebay. already swapped out the front arms for RPM long arms and RPM gearbox case (stuck an aluminum idler gear in it while i was in there). had to file out the inside of the arms a bit to make them fit the RPM toe blocks.
traxxas still make the slipper pucks? and will those hold up to about a 3300kv motor on 2s lipo or do i need to swap out the top shaft and upgrade to a modern slipper clutch?

to answer my previously asked question. yes traxxas still makes the pucks. and the puck slipper clutch does kind of take a 3300kv 4 pole motor on 2s. i have to run the slipper very tight and it gets very hot after about a 10 minute run, but so far, after about a dozen runs, its holding together.
...now if i could just keep the front tires on the ground...

Everything in a Stampede is still being made. The current Pede is 99% the same as the 90s.
