Just because you were able to keep up with crappy drivers with 8.5s, doesn't mean that it would happen everywhere.

As for everyone else with the raging erections over Evans wing. It is very clearly not the new upgrade wing. The upgrade wing has golf ball like dimples on the flat parts on either side of the mounts. He is sponsored by JC, so it is probably one of their wings.
There's some good info in here but wow, you sound like a d-bag saying it.

Does anyone know are you able to use the associated thrust washers and thrust balls in the 22 diff? I broke my thrust washers and have the associated ready. I already use the ae bolt and nut just wondering if it would work with the 5/64 thrust balls.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I'm not sure, but if it fits in the outdrive, you're good to go.

does anyone know if you can replace the pins on MIP CVD's? im talking about the actual pin that goes into the outdrive or "dogbone" side.

They seem to last much longer with less lash than stock, however i want to reduce wear on my outdrives without having to buy a new set of CVD's every couple weeks. Also, unless im somehow missing it, they only sell replacement 22 axles, not just the bones.

can this be done? and how? thanks

I asked this question in the 22SCT thread, but I'm asking here also, hoping to get an answer. Does the gear diff Losi part #LOSA2954 already come with diff oil in it when purchased new? If so, what weight? Or, do I need to put in some diff oil in myself, when I get it out of its packaging?

it's greased, not filled. Depends on the track condition, you will need to choose your oil anyways.
on very high traction surface they use 5000 oil,
personally on our local track, medium-low grip clay track, I use 3000 oil.

thanks for the reply...I've gotten various responses about this...I run in a med-low grip clay track like you, so I'll open the gear diff up to put some 3000 oil

Switched to gear diff and loving it, filled it with losi black grease and the buggy is on rails. You will notice going from the ball to gear that you can't get on the throttle as heavy out of the corners. But for that small disadvantage I'm all in for a diff rebuild every 3months as opposed to every 3races. Also
Half the guys I race with run the ball diff and I have been running top 3 so I'm not seeing really seeing the disadvantage myself. It's all drivability and the ability to adjust. I guess my conclusion is I'm running gear diff because I'm lazy and I'm sure a lot ppl will swear by ball diff but I'm truly not seeing the big difference when it comes to competing against it.

there are some cars where the gear diff really shines. The durango guys seem to like it, but normally the ball diff always wins. Like that guy said, he wants to be lazy. Just wait till that thing leaks and makes a huge mess of your tranny lol.

Over the weekend my gear diff began leaking, 3 race days and it leaked 25% of it's oil out - we run on astro - ball diff went back in it and it is there to stay!
