There are 2 new RC4 transponders, a "Pure" (compatible only with the new decoder) and a "Hybrid" (compatible both ways). The Hybrid is more expensive based on the Aussie trade in program in the link above.

Does anyone have the info and where to send my MRT transponder to take advantage of the trade in program? I have 2 amb/MyLaps and 1 MRT, time to make all my cars AMB/MyLaps cars. Thanks!

the club has updated the scoring system and they have loaner transponder for the day...

the old amb still work good... the only one i traded in were the 3 mrt little black transponder and one amb that had broken wires and could be fixed

You can get the RC4 Hybrid or RC4 Pure, but any AMB or MyLaps RC2 or newer PTX will work. The RC4 units are supposed to have telemetry, but I haven't looked into what they are monitoring or can monitor just yet. I just sent off all of my MRTs this week to get them exchanged for RC4 Pure units.

Is it best to just get a new one or does anyone have one for sale that would work with the new system?

last time a called mylaps they couldn't get parts to make the new transponders, I would call first. I traded my mrt in at bruckner hobbies for 55.00. I still tink this whole mylaps thing is a pile of ____. Just my .02

I hadn't heard they were out of product. When did that happen?

I called a couple of weeks ago to trade mine in and they told to hang on to it, until they can get more. She said they were having issues getting the parts to make them, thats why I went to bruckner hobbies. I didn't want to have to spend any more then I needed to.

10 useless MRTs was pretty stressful. I did get my order in, so now I just have to wait I guess. I sold MRTs for a while and apparently I was my best customer. I had one in every car my family raced. I don't like having to upgrade PTXs, but MyLaps/AMB isn't required to make sure their competition works on/with their timing systems. I sent an email off to Terry, but he said his company is still working on a solution. They currently do not have one. I felt it was better to not wait for new MRTs to come out as that may never happen.

My batch of new replacement Transponders showed up. I'm going to sell 6 of them for $95 each if anyone is interested as that is what they cost.
