Mugen MBX6
So honestly how much better are the CSI pistons compared the the Mugen pistons? I have never used the CSI products but might if you really think there is that much of a difference you can really tell it.
The CSI pistons seem to plant the car better than other pistons, the car does jump and land better than with the Mugen pistons, so far i've tried the white 5 hole, the black 6 hole, the Fironi Ergal 6 hole and the CSI and I have to give the edge to the CSI's. A good oil to start with is 50wt front, 45wt front.
[QUOTE=Slider30250;11824284]The new taper 5 hole pistons work very well when installed with the taper up (mugen's perform better with a reduced rebound setting). If you go with the CSI blue pistons with a 50 wt front, 45 wt rear oil setup will work just great. The Serpent webbed bladders have a break in period before the rebound will become consistent and easier to set, I personally prefer the Kyosho black shock bladders http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ck-Diaphragm-4
They are durable and last a long time. What i've found is the kit 8.25 springs front and rear work pretty much anywhere, i've tried different front and rear springs and always go back to the 8.25's. You will find that the 6R likes a 25-27mm front ride height and a 26-28mm rear ride height, from there just play with the caster and roll centers to get the feel you want and have fun.[/QUOTE/] @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@ Thanks for the advice/info and I did order a set of the Mugen 1.35 5 hole tapered also I was looking at the Kyosho and Csi bladders but wasn't sure if the Kyosho would work now I know they will. I have ran a few different tapered pistons never up but your not the first to recommend it so I'll give it a try. One last question should I go up from stock 400/450 shock oil with tapered up? Thanks Again!

You absolutely what to change to a 500 front, 450 rear oil setup with the taper 5 hole pistons. A note on the CSI bladders....they are a very close copy to the Kyosho bladders! Just a little thicker and on the top side where the Kyosho ones have a flap with 6 slits in it the CSI's have 8, that's the only physical differences. The Kyosho ones seem to be a little softer than the CSI ones.

Ok Thanks Again! Very similar to my setup with the Losi shocks. I wish my CSI Losi pistons would work but the shaft end on the Mugen is smaller but only a little. Oh well I'll have to get some new ones soon! Thanks!

Hey just installed the tapered Mugen pistons like a few recommended with taper up and I have one last question. Do you guys leave the bottom small oring shock cap a little loose or snug it good? I used a little bit of Our green oring grease but if I tighten the cap a good bit it seems to bind shaft a little. I have built many shocks but this is my first time with the Mugen so I thought I would ask. Well one more I can't find much info on ideal rebound settings with the Mugen Thanks!

I have a personal idea of what should be customer service and when I send an email to a shop or a brand and they feel like not answering, I then feel like not giving them my hard earned money.
