I am curious about dropping the front oil weight too. I know in the Sc10 4x4 that made a big difference in how much turn in the vehicle had. based on what the hudy offroad guide says:
It may be that the conditions where we need quick change of direction like on tight tracks, we will see a benefit here versus others who may find they are going on power more and seeing steerin benefits.
Looking at the same guide for Center diff info:
This would probably explain how I felt I lost alittle bit of offpower steering when I went to 10K. Could make it up via a drop up front possibly?
or, going thicker rear to decrease cornering traction as described here:
based on all this, I can see how a 10-10-5 setup may give kind of a best of both worlds feel. I am thinking I am going to give that setting a try, definitely going to 5 in the rear for the carpet here.
Last I heard, it may be an option direct from Tekno. Keep clamoring for it and who knows, we may get it.
Personally, I think the things I want are:
- Hingepin braces available separately, no 2 packs
- A spring kit package available with a cheaper price, they don't have to be AE level in pricing for sure
- sway bar kit packages
Think that is about it right now for me at least.
Oh, and please, does anyone KNOW what the different hingepin bushing positions mean in degrees? For example, the stock rear position is say 3 degrees, etc.

Didn't finish a race today. Three for Three. Unfortunately it was not me that was the cause. It was a new track and other drivers. But that's how it goes, I guess.
Now, for the weird: (fyi, these were not what stopped my race. Those were other things)
TEKNO, Please take a look.

Anyone experienced any of those pics? The ball is imbedded into the servo saver armlet. Very interesting. Did not stop the car from driving, just isn't "right". The Shock Cup is just fkn weird.

Great that the height of the cup is high enough. On the scte the rear springs sometime get dislocated because of this.

Just want to give a shout-out to Tekno's amazing customer service.. When I got my kit there were 2 holes in the chassis that were not drilled out for the countersunk screws..i emailed Tekno about it expecting an answer along the lines of, "Just drill them out yourself and it will be fine"..nope, they sent me a brand new chassis! It shipped out on Friday, had it at my door on Monday...simply amazing..Thank you Tekno! Your customer service is second to none IMHO.

Not as big of an item as yours, but tekno get me the shims I needed for the diff cups right away as well. They are also quick on answering questions too which I really appreciate it. always a plus.
That is also great news that the hingepin holders will be available separately, the alloy ones, soon. I wouldn't mind picking up 1 for the rear like how the vehicle came with one for the front.

No doubt. They could have flipped the rear diff like tekno, and straightened the driveline, but then they couldn't do a traxxas and reuse all the center drive parts, another cost cutting measure.
I was on the fence, but after the personal hate mail I received, I'll be going Tekno now for sure

Shaun,
It appears you don't have the best understanding of Tekno, where they are at, and how all this works. Please don't take this as a flame against you, because I see that you're trying to be helpful, and have been a positive contributor to other threads in the past. Here's some things you should try to understand:
Tekno is a small company, this you know. But what you may not realize is that development costs are extremely high. In the last year, Tekno has released two brand new platforms. I do no know this for fact, but I'd be very willing to bet that they have yet to recover, even with all kits/parts sold, the development costs of these two kits.
Teknos main revenue stream is via its distributors. Amain, tower, etc. typical agreements with these companies demand that Tekno keep their prices on their website at top retail. This usually has a margin in the 40-70% range. This allows the distributors to sell the products under "sale" prices and still make a profit. If you look about 20 pages back, someone posted a link to a small online shop selling most of the EB48 aluminum parts at a much lower price than Tekno website. You'll notice this trend on the SCT as well, but you'll have to give it some time.
You say they've sold "thousands". Again I don't know, but I think "a thousand" is more likely today. In a year, it will be ten thousand, you can bank on that. Maybe then well see the prices of spares/upgrades come down a bit
I think most of us on this thread feel a bit lucky to be driving these Tekno vehicles. Of course we paid hard earned cash for them, but they are so much better and more enjoyable than the rest of the market that we get this feeling. Combine that with the fact that its a brand new line and on the cutting edge, and this hobby just got much more fun. They deserve a break for that, in my opinion.
You're getting answers from the owner of the company about your truck's shocks. How much would you pay for that type of service from AE? I bet it's more than $29.99, and at least Tekno gives you nice machined pistons
I could easily be off here, so please excuse me if so. I just really want to keep the positivity up on this thread. Tekno is the best company I've ever dealt with in this hobby, and I want them around for a long time

Lolz @ the losi 2.0 thread they sound like rabid apple fans waiting in line for the new ipad!
I have had both trucks and by far the tekno might be heavier but the battery mAh consumption is on par with the losi truck (my scte is 5.9 with body on while tekno is bone stock with 330 gram lipo full size servo esc). Selling that as a tuning aid is a load of crock.
So what is the consensus with running shock boots? I always hate those things, they keep tearing up and binding the stroke, and I race on a clean track and inspect/refill/build my shocks every 2 race weekends. Should I still run em?

I was of the same line of thought with running shock boots. HATE THEM! However, after taking Danny's advice and running them on my Tekno fleet, I won't EVER run without them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! BTW, my track is clay with little dust if dry, no dust when wet. Mostly ran wet.

Here's a thought. Spring perch somehow not locked on to the shock end nub. Through the course of the run, the perch rotated around the spring to where it now sits. Think about it like this. Take two springs and press them together. You would likely have to rotate one around the other's coils to separate them.
