SC10 Thread Part 2

I haven't done it but i believe you need to drill new holes in the body mount to attach it to the tower, possibly where the upper shock mounts...I have seen more people do the sc10b stuff to t4's then sc10's

the SC10B front tower has the same mounting hole that the SC10 tower has in the middle. Other than that, the actual front body mount needs to be dremeled down and has the possibility of drilling the shock mounting locations into the front body mount or you can zip tie it as I have seen that too

Had a pretty good race this last weekend at the January Jam at Flowood RC Park. Amazing facility, great program, 240+ entries overall, around 40 in 2wd open SC.
Ended up having to run pro buggy/ebuggy due to the class splits
, so that was humbling, lol. Took 7th in the B in pro ebuggy and ended up losing both servos in my nitro (I'd rather not talk about that, lol).
However in 2wd SC I ended up 5th over all, top 3 were pros, so I'm pretty good with that. One of the local guys there got some pretty cool pics.
Forgive the lame white body, I'm waiting on my painter!

I want to know...are the AE SC10B (Short Course Buggy) front A-arm and shock tower are the new "OPTION" for the SC10 if more steering is what I am looking after? I heard that is the new thing to bling the SC10. But I might be talking stupid....just want to see does anyone did that? Because I see they are out of stock everywhere online.
Got the spacing of the SC10B top shock mount holes and drilled my SC10 body mount to fit.
Had to move the rear shock top mounts from "0" to "1" to get the rear to rotate after the front mount change.
Left the stock shock mounts in case the change didn't work.
I race on off road red clay track that black grooves and off road carpet.

Just picked up a SC10 from a friend . It is stock other than RPM arms and aluminum steering rack. What things are must DO's??? to upgrade this truck?
Tracks i run are open loose bumpy
and one will be open smooth clay

- RPM front bumper (broke a chassis with stock one, probably my bad driving)
- RPM rod ends (broke a stock one)
- FT Ti turnbuckles (just cause, when I switched to all RPM rod ends)
- FT aluminum rear hubs (bearing squished into plastic one)
- FT axle solid axle pins (stock ones sheared multiple times)
- FT CVA's (stock dogbones sheared and axle grooves worn from dogbones) - FT aluminum front hinge pin brace (broke front bulkhead).
- Front A-arms (broke stock one)
In other words, I wish I would have gotten a Factory Team truck to start with
Live and learn...if you are a practiced driver already you probably won't have the same issues I had. I was relearning to drive after 20+ years and did a lot of smashing the first couple times out. Now that my driving is back to decent I don't break anything very often. Good luck, once you get the truck straightened out and tuned well it drives great.

Has anyone tried different wheel offsets to get the best rear traction? I tried hazards and they don't have enough. I tried slash and it was too much. I need something in the middle. A friend sold me a set that is perfect, but I do not know who makes them. Does anyone know of a rear wheel that would fit this parameter? On the inside of the wheel is sc with the C backwards.

Guys im gonna try 40wt oil in my factory team truck.
If that's too heavy I'll go back down to 35wt oil.
The kit came with 30wt oil and i feel that's too soft.
What do you guys think? I dont feel 40wt will make that much difference.

I worked on my kids truck this weekend. It still steers tooo much. Or I should say the rear it too loose. Last week it was fine running on worn out tires. I put on tires with tread and it was crap. and I left my worn out barcodes at home.... sigh. I cant ever tune the sc10 to make much of a difference. I have tried everything. long links, short link, more washers , less washers, weight in the rear battery forward, middle, back, ride height changes, body mount changes and many more. I have concluded that this truck is best tuned with tires. We all know that tuning is 90% tires, but i feel the sc10 is 99% tires, lol. I am going to go broke trying to get the right tires on my kids truck. God I hate short course. I very much want her to practice with my buggy and get better, lol. The problem is the trucks will punt her off the track with a buggy. The ladies and novice classes are run what you brung. Several guys/gals have tried buggies and although they like them, racing with sc tracks is crap.
Have you tried more rear toe-in ? The 1.5 b44 hubs or the losi 2 deg ones will
help.

Plese help me to know who makes that wheel. I did some rough measurements and came up with the following; the hazards are 4mm off set, the mystery wheel is 8 mm, and the slash rear wheel is 16mm offset. I guess that explains why the slash wheel performed so well, but I like the handling of the mystery wheel the best. If I could find something around 10mm?
