Previous boards have looked into this situation extensively and our present renting situation is about all we can do without some solid private backing. Life in the RC business isn't all roses. Ask Helen at PHC or Scotty.

As a matter of fact, yes. It was brought up and the answer was "no".

Before you start to criticize my optimism, get your facts straight.

ok, ...

guys....this is silly....

i have a sams card, and can get the paper towels.... are they needed tomorrow???

there are many things that have transpired in the club over the years....if you want history, ask Erik, or Tim, or sit down with me, i realize i have not been around for a while i do know the club back to the late 80's

yes it would be nice to have our own place, it is however expensive...also, in my opinion, it is not feasible to open a track unless, 1, marcca is on board, and fully supports it....2, you won the lotto and dont care if you make money....

while i support a week day program, and i think an agreement should be able to be made, i will take the word of the guys that met the landlord and have negotiated with him.

how many paper towels do you want, i have to work tomorrow night, i will drop them off at 10ish if there will still be folks at the track...

Well said. I'll be buying my lottery ticket after work.

There is a board meeting in a week. Maybe this additional class can be discussed further then. We could always try it for a week and see how it goes too. If nothing else it could be tried at the end of the points season.

Good idea.

I've been to places where all the beginners are tossed into one class vehicle type doesn't matter. No one can stay on the track, so it doesn't matter who wins. Its about learning how to turn good clean laps in competition. If someone shows they can really drive, they get bumped, like Nathaniel, into a class by the director (Novice, Sportsman, Open, Super) like Spike did.

Novice is one step above beginner. They're not as fast, not as skilled as the Open guys. One or two offroad season guys who are taking their time learning. (Like me)

Sportsman at most places is what we are seeing in open. Its the guys who just aren't as fast as Open and Super and have a ton of good driving skills. They know how to get out of the way, don't go off course much and though competitive, don't let a true racing incident phase them. Those are the guys doing the back slapping and smiling coming off the stand. They are "Sportsmen".

Open, this is a unique class. Most places toss everyone in Mod and let the heats sort the field. This Open class is nice as it allows the guys who are really fast, but still working on skill to progress. These are the guys most likely to "hack" their way past a slower driver.

Super, love to watch these guys drive. These are the guys to try and follow in practice and take pointers from. They are also they guys I turn to when my truck doesn't feel right, or I tune it right out of competition.

well obviously this will have to go to the board for a discussion but i think it might be a good time to try this. i am on board with whatever is decided but the idea of one stadium class is for some reason interesting to me i know i started this thread as an addition of a class but maybe we should loose one. that way as the track changes the drivers can excel and go farther based on there skill set i think it might be a good way also to evaluate where everyone should be. what if upon sign up i rate people based on experience and comfort and use that as a giude to set up heats then you race your way out of that heat i like it and its wierd but it would make for crazy action and excitement but what do you do about back to back mains there is only so many other races to split them up. say there are 28 trucks thats a dmain 2 bumps will are there enough sct sportsman and buggy races that people who bump have time to charge its like the chili bowl lol

IRRC you can set RC scoring to do that for you.
