Default 4th stadium truck class

It has become very aparent to me that stadium truck is growing at a very fast pace and with that we need to adjust I looked over the sheets from tonight and found that we actually could have 4 great Racing classes we have for the last several weeks have had 15 plus open trucks and it has been fun but I believe the is a big gap from sportsman to open to super I think I'd like to make a advanced open class for your slower super faster open guys just Asa quick example rich Beatty won open truxx championship in convincing fasion and ran super truxx tonight where he could not get within 2 laps of getting in the show. Think a bout it I'm sure we could find 8-10 guys that fit that model and would like to be able to have a shot to win. Cox's, Seffrood , Mann,Beatty,Stough, cavanaugh, foster just to name a few think it over and let me know what you think

Put me in whatever class you wish. Nobody moves out of the way better than I do.

A main, B main, C main, etc. There's no reason to divide up into 4 groups that don't cross compete. How is winning the intermediate level class any different than winning the B main?

So if the winner of the advanced open class moves into super trucks and they still are not within the fast guys are we going to create a double secret advanced open class?

So chad u are a former super truck guy how did u enjoy moving over every lap and knowing u would never get a full good run because the amazing monsters in that class are just that good this is not about one driver its about making the quality of racing the best it can be

I see a group that is right between the two that can be great racing I've also had guys come to me and say how sick they are of being in a 5 minute shoot out for 1 spot its a hack fest

If no one wants it fine but the discussion after the races was pretty positive towards it

Sorry if I'm ruffling feathers just trying to do my job

Spike, You run a great show. I personally would not add another class unless you are going to do it based on equipment restrictions. My personal problem with offroad is usually over powered equipment. Most if not all the beginners show up with stuff they can't drive and have to dial it down, including me. I should still be running 17.5s in all my offroad stuff as it is a speed I have control over. No butt puckering corner speeds or ridiculous airborne acrobatics at high speeds. A full trigger pull isn't going to get me into huge trouble with limited power. But, that is my problem.

Keep up the good work, and don't let us rain on your parade!

IMO super/open should be combined. The 'fast guys' in open are faster than the 'slow guys' in super, but the super drivers are more consistent/etc

There will always be someone faster. If your race in separate classes, you don't get a chance to learn from them, and become faster yourself.

I think that's a decision the Marcca board of directors would make, requiring a meeting and a vote. Meetings are the first Saturday of the month.

That's the problem with this club Spike, It takes at least 2 years for any idea to sink in and become a good idea. But by then, it is someone else's great idea. MARCCA doesn't like change, plain and simple.
People are quick to forget how it feels to get a win, in any class. It may just be a little piece of metal to some, but I remember how good it felt to get my first one. I think another class is a good idea. They wouldn't be on pace with super, but they know how to drive and know good track ediquet. No one likes a hack fest!

I ran in super before there was a sportsman class. After the first heat of super trucks, I was surrounded by guys who were more my speed. True, I moved over, but the problem isn't going to be solved by adding another class.
For instance, look at last night's racing in open......
-Ian Whiting: heck of a move from Sportsman to Open. Made the A
-Rick Sefrood: was in the C main. Very unusual for a guy like Rick
-Travis, Evan, Hunter, Karl are all becoming faster.
The competition in open is tight, as it should be.
Every driver in open is becoming faster, not every driver in open is becoming a better racer. Look at the problem two weeks ago in the open A main. Both of those drivers would be in the "in between" class. Think the problem is the speed or the drivers?
Regardless of what happens, you are the race director and I respect what decision is made. I race toy cars with friends.

All hypethetical thinking here....

So lets call the new 4th class....almost there

Who decides who can be in that class? As others have pointed out, there are some in the open class that are fast but have not fully grasped how to behave on the track. Most of us would rather run with "good" faster or slower drivers rather than get punted during the mains or being unable to pass someone slower during the heats.

2nd'ed

Other than "sportsman" a class is a class in my eyes.
Bump-up's, & making the "A" have always been fun.
We do have a pile of "1st Place C Main" "1st Place D Main" plaques for a reason...

There is merit to both viewpoints, but I think there are other things that should be looked at.
Thursday or Friday evening Off-road Racing?
2 heats & a Main?

Also somebody should buy some Ductape by Wednesday, I won't be back until Sunday. Menards has the 3pack for $10 that has been quite good, any cheaper than that & it isn't good.

Also is there a club member that has a Sam's or Cosco card that would be willing to make purchases for the club??? we also need paper towels.

Back when I reentered RC, MARCCA had skill levels 1,2,3,4. I started in 2, tried 3, then asked if I could race in 4.

1. was sportsman
2. was getting better
3. was pretty good but drivers did not have proper etiquette yet
4. best drivers

I know there were some that did not think I had "done my time" in the lower classes, but I did not enjoy the level 3 driving style.

The simplest thing would be to put everyone together, have A,B,C... let it sort out. Maybe stack the initial heats by estimated skill. Or have an initial "fast lap" qualifier to set the first round.

The system does have a drivers skill level adjustment, & as always the dir can edit "certain" things...
