I used stock fronts in the rear till I got some orange ones.

I was speaking to the Pro-Line kit specifically, which is what I have in the mail coming this week, I think its only about 4 oz heavier than the stock, but not sure if that's the entire rig since they're so new and not sold as a kit, its hard to get a straight comparison, plus different motor/speedo combos.

At the indoor track I'm at, I rarely see weight added to the SCTs, except to balance cars. Most of the guys racing Pro or top end Intermediate are doing some insane weight loss, which I find kind of funny, since everyone is ignoring the ROAR rule of the min weight. I wish this was enforced, it would decrease the craziness and even the playing field.

On an outdoor track I could see a heavier car being a plus, which is what I'm racing on next after my move.

Outboard top and bottom, and no, shock eyes are snug. I measure rear shocks at 103mm (center to center) fully extended, which seems to be the key to this discussion.

Oh ok got you. Ive seen the guys with the lighter trucks addeding a lot of lead weights at indoor tracks is what i was going to say. But yea on outdoor tracks extra weight on them does help for sure.

I have added a 1/2 oz weight on the left side of the chassis to balance it out because i have the ESC on top of the upper deck and one 1/2 oz weight on the front end on the LCG Slash mostly for more turn in a little weight. Yea Roar i dont brother with there races lol. But i get what your saying though.

Okay, see to the left right under my screen name? 'Tech Initiate'. I looked that up on wikipedia, and it says dumbass newbie.

I was setting ride height without the battery or body installed. Once I tried it with the bits onboard, I had a low rider. Bringing it back up to 25mm resolved the spring slack... duh!

At least you all know what to suggest to the next 'Tech Initiate'. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

@Tio, don't be too hard on yourself. We all have to learn sometime.

Glad you figured that out. Yes anytime we're speaking ride height it's truck ready to hit the track usually minus body.

As long as you make sure all your shocks are the same overall length when extended to begin with the rest of the setup is a bit easier since you know this to be a "true." If the car is ever "tweaked" start looking for bent parts, mismatched mounting locations for camber links and shocks, etc.

The outdoor track I'm heading to in VA hosts ROAR races, so I'm pretty excited about this LCG chassis from Pro-Line, with the captured ends, a little more durability and the gear vs ball diff, I think it will be more mass, but in the right places. I know putting a bunch of lead where you want it is a little bit of an advantage, but I saw a guy take 2nd a major SOCAL race in BOX STOCK SLASH VXL....so the car isn't everything. I should have the rest of my kit, for the full blown pro-line conversion by Friday. Looking forward to a weekend build!

When you guys set your ride height at 25mm's do you have problems with chassis slapping?

Ads of right now i have no more wiggle room left in my racing budget, i owuld like to use the closest spring possible to the TLR orange rear. I have the MIP Springs and the stock rear spring. Which one would get me the closest?

Hey Lowe I couldn't PM you because your blocked from receiving messages. Heres the answer though.

Hey Nick apologies for the late reply just got back from Ohio. I run the Tekin RX8 4600kv combo and haven't had any issues with it. Also I run a Trinity 6900 100C pack. And my gearing is 14 pinion 41 tooth spur MIP part # 12199. That is my setup at OCRC and it works great. Hope this helps and if you have any further questions feel free to hit me up.

Yes we are working on production prototypes right now. Should be around a month or less until they are out.

Always hahaha, they will be available soon enough just working on the final touches.

It was great to meet you in person Chad, and glad we were able to help you out .

With the stock 40t spur, the gear is dangerously close to the chassis -- apparently with the MIP 41t it actually does rub the chassis itself. However, the problem I am having is that the spur rubs the rear part of the gear groove in the chassis. It is minimal, but nevertheless causes a bit of bind.

Matt Olson mentioned that uses spacers to lift the KHZ mounts slightly from the chassis when running the MIP 41t. What spacers were used? Any other suggestions to fix this issue?

It seems the issue with the spur gears only happens withe the MIP chassis + KHZ mounts. Stock chassis + KHZ mount = no issues. MIP chassis + stock mounts = no issues. KHZ chassis + KHZ mounts = no issues. MIP chassis + KHZ mounts = issues.

As an aside, the other issue I had with the KHZ mounts was that the set screw for the pinion gear needed to be dremeled down a couple of mm to properly fit the pinion and set the gear mesh (it otherwise sticks out too far on the motor shaft or hits the motor mount).
All that needs to be done is add a 1.5-2mm shim under the mounting holes. This will space up the diff and make it possible to put the 41T in with the Kings Head mount. I've been running the 41T religiously and don't have a problem with spacing up the diff a tad.
