The AE FActory Team B44.2 Thread

I find the 44 to be more durable than the K car. The plastics on the K car will last much longer, but they also make it more susceptible to raceday ending wrecks. I've witnessed several nose down landings end in top deck, chassis, bulkhead, shock tower destroying glory.
The 44's are damn near bulletproof. You'll break front arms every time you hit something at speed. Shock shafts/caps/eyelets will also break from time to time (rare). A wicked crash cana break a tower or top-deck, but I've yet to see that happen (only rumors). The transmission cases can break as well, but I've only seen that happen once in 3 years.
The .1 is still very competitive. Unless you're getting a killer deal on it, I'd just spring for the .2 up front. I can't see a NIB .1 and a set of big bores being much less than a .2.

Check to be certain you are using the correct and long enough length screws on all around your transmission cases and bottom of chassis. If for some reason those screws are too short, things will flex a little, and the rear tower is going to be the first thing to go.

I am now in love with 4WD Stock Buggy racing.
Went to St Ives yesterday arvo and ran 3 packs through my 44.2 and Im in love.
Track: High Bite Outdoor clay with a fine light dust covering.
Running the 44.2 to kit specs with the following changes.
M3 Holeshots at all 4 Corners.
RPM Ball Cups.
35wt Shock Oil up front but 30wt in the rear.
Buggy was hooked up!

I really like them they have been great so far... More pricey than RPM. Note you will have to get shorter camber links. There listed on this page.

Wow! Are you permitted to boost it via the ESC? We run Stock 2wd buggy and truck sometimes and we must use a 17.5 with no boost. The truck and buggies are sssslllllooooooowwwwwwwwww
in that class. I can't imagine a 17.5 in a 4wd buggy. What gearing are you at? Can you basically hold the throttle wide open the whole time?

Haha no you cant hold the throttle WOT all the time. Gotta remember most tracks in Aus are outdoors, so even if they are high grip clay. They still get a bit of dust and can get quite loose.
Stock is all about maintaing corner speed, you dont have the motor to bail you out.
But yes you are right watching Mod 4WD after Stock 4WD is like watching it in fast forward.
