Tekno RC EB48 Thread

and what about soldeiring the wires, does it requires speciale soldering tools or just regular one would do the job ?

no bullets. you need to buy them if you want to use them. For soldering I haven't found anything different about the motors than soldering anything else. Now for the ESC, I have heard they can be harder to solder, but I never had that issue.

What size bullets should we get for the rx8? Also can anyone tell me what parts I need that are not in the kit that are either updated or aftermarket that is available, and should I get stiffer rear springs and if so what color?

I would just solder personally unless you plan to be swapping the motor a lot. Its less hassle.
The RX8 has solder posts.
If I was going to use connectors, I would use the 6.5mm castle bullet ones or similar. Make sure to insulate them from each other, I usually just stagger them then wrap them in electrical tape.

tried the shrink wrap but it ends up either pulling wrong exposing part of the connector or tears. Just easier for me to just use plain electrical tape and be done with it or the liquid kind.
Yeah, its grown a lot here.

i noticed that the Takin 2250kv can accept up to 6S according to tower website info.
Why most people don't recommand this ?
Even Takin support doesn't support any idea of using 6S with any of thier motors&esc excecpt the 1400kv !!
i can't really understand why , as long as this motor can accept 6S by the manufacturer itself, why the support team doesn't say so ?

I run 6S only in my 1/5 scale right now using a castle 1520 long can motor. Kvs on it are about 1600Kv.
For the purposes of the EB48 however, Tekin's recommendation for 6S usage are what I would stick with.

Will it be drivable and run at a reasonable temperature... No.
6s on that motor is way too much power to manage on a track. For a couple speed runs, ok. Other than that it would be useless.

To all the guys with power plant questions, just run this....

Had mine for three years. No problems at all. If you buy cheap, you usually buy twice. Stormer's price is the best out there.

I just finished building my EB48. I was very skeptical at first not knowing much about Tekno and their products.
This is one of the nicest kits out their (except they need to find a new body designer).
All aspects of the fit and finish are great. The only thing i had to do was clean up the bottom of the female side of the servo saver.
The shocks are NICE!!! I hope the durability is as good as it looks.
Great job Tekno.

I'd be leary of what tower says something can do personally. If Tekin says no, best bet is just to go with what they say. A lot of it also may depend on the kind of setup you are using it in as well.

i tried the 2200kv by castle for over six monthes now , 6S all the time and there's zero issue even at about 80F outside tempreature, gearing was 48-15 on a vorza.
i'm really confused now.. if i found myself forced to get a takin motor b/c Castle is out of stock will it full fil my need for 10 minutes or so of bashing ( non racing ) ?
I know that i'm repeating the same queation that because i'm really unsure yet about 6S handling by these motors.

I agree in theory about the get what you pay for price thing stated often, but, that is relative. If the quality is there, paying more doesn't really matter, or else places that sell the Rx8 higher than what you listed would be better lol. Or, another way of saying, if the RX8 can be had for $100 with warranty (and it can) is it now not good as before
For the guy asking about runtime on the tekin's, in general I coudl always get at least 13 minutes no matter conditions on a 5000mah battery with the 2050kv or simila rmotor (2200kv, etc). This ranged from winter cold to summer heat, hard driving with lots of wheel slippage.

it looks that takin's 1900 and higher won't tolerate keeping on 6S for normal 10-15 min normal bashing sessions i guess.

Hope this explains what we mean a bit better.
