I expect that they will make the 550 4 poles legal. The 540's just have too much off an issue in the 4x4 class with heat.

That 4 pole 550 size personally seems just right for this class. Heck, wouldn't mind trying them in my eb48 for a more lightweight setup.

As for 3S packs, Promatch has some right now for a really good price and 1 year warranty:

Thinking of trying some, heck, could use them for my 1/5 scale conversion.

I may have been sleeping, but I just found the SCT410 instruction manual on the Tekno site. I didn't see it posted on any previous pages, but I apologize if it's already been posted.

Looks like there are some bits and pieces missing in the manual it might just be that I was looking at it on my phone but looks like a pretty straight forward build :-)

Don't quote me on this but I haven't seen anything that allows any 4 pole motors, 540 or 550 size, to be run at roar events. Last I saw and read only 2 pole Motors are allowed or legal to race their events

Why? Almost everybody has their personal favourite bodies, and not having to include one reduces box size a lot.

The two pole rotors are only mandatory in spec classes.

Seriously? You see nothing wrong with a $400 kit that doesn't even come with a body? That just tacks another $30 to the price of the kit.

Would have tacked on more than that between the cost of the body and the additional shipping for the much larger box and then you get a cheap body that might not like.

No, as long as what's included makes up for it.

Any thoughts on using this motor?

http://www.speedpassion.net/shop/det...?p=CSL03&c=MTR

curious as I remember when these came out they were being used in 1/8, but the Kv's were high. wondering if these could be good in 1/10 4x4 SCT ...

Another way to look at it ...

I rather have the choice to buy the body of my liking versus the need to upgrade the kit with the variety of stuff that I had to do with the SC10 4x4 to get it to perform.

And the vehicle can be had for $340 shipped.

I ran one of those motors in a 1/10 truggy. It was nothing special. Smooth, but ran hot. There are better options if you want to run a 2-pole motor.
