At first I was running the stock BB pistons and oils, then I went to the 1.7's with the heavier oil and I liked the pack that they had for the end of big triples.

So now I'm wanting to try the new avid pistons, but I was wondering for those who have tried them, does that setup have enough pack for parts of the track like the ends of big triples?

By front tires touching suspension, do you mean any part of the front A arm that could cause the wheel to stop moving on full lock? If so, then no, my wheels are not locking up, I have my endpoints adjusted so that doesn't happen. This is a stock RTR car that I have slowly upgraded myself, so my castor blocks are on the right side and I checked and also my spacers are in the right place.
Can you take a pic of the front end and post it? Are you running hexes?

I was exact same as you. First ran the 1.7's with 37.5 ft 35 rr it was really good i got my fastest time! Then went to avid's 1.6 -1.1 35 ft 32.5 rear and got an even faster time so I'm happy.

Avid 1.6's? Huh, my track/hobby shop said that most AE guys were using the 1.5's so I got those.

I actually got the 1.5 + 1.1's as well just havent tried them yet. But I read on avid's site that the 1.6 + 1.1 is comparable to the 1.7 and the 1.5 + 1.1 is comparable to the 1.6

So since the avid 1.6's were out of stock and I got the 1.5's I should go lighter weight than your setup you posted? If so how much?

Coach posted a setup a while back with the new avid pistons and it called for 30wt front and rear.

Here it is:

Which lrp brushless system do you guys prefer the most in your b4.1? I was going to buy the flow today but they were sold out so I'm looking for other options. Thanks in advance

Wait and get the Flow...there were some on ebay last i checked. It is going to be the best, most reliable LRP your going to find right now with the updates no longer available on the SXX series.

Speedtech has them:

Losi parts house has 1:

Hideeho
I found a place that has good prices on a574 screws & priced out some variations on the screw kits. I came up with 4 variants. They are with aluminum & a574 screws, with just a574 screws, with exact kit screws, with consolidated sizes. With the consolidated sizes the majority of the changes being in non critical area (gear cover, wing mount, etc) but 2 that are critical. They are shortening the the steering by 1/16", & using 5/8" on the u-brace instead of 7/16" & 9/16". Unfortunately even on the "exact" screw kits I had to substitute 5-40 x 5/8" for the 5-40 x 9/16".

1st mixed aluminum & a574 screws with exact kit sizes for around $35-$40.
2nd mixed aluminum & a574 screws with consolidated sizes for around $30-$35.
3rd all a574 screws with exact kit sizes for around $25-$30.
4th all a574 screws with consolidated sizes for around $20-$25.

All of the kits will come with the base kit screws, plus extra nuts for the shock towers & hubs ( for those using chubs), plus wheel nuts (front & rear for hex conversions), plus the longer shock mount screws for big bore conversions & of course the washers for the top plate like the ft & worlds use.

Just to make sure since I haven't converted yet, the fronts on hex conversions are 5-40 nuts like the slipper & the t4.1 use, right?

If you have hexes on the front then it is the exact same nut as the rear...8/32".

Hit the track yesterday with the Flow, Wolfpack, and 7.5T.

At first It was hard to keep the buggy under control. I am not sure if it was me getting used to the motor or maybe my tires were just not worn in good yet.

I think it was both.

Towards the end of the night the crowd left and I got a bunch of track time and set up my transponder.

I started out with pretty slow lap around 17-18 seconds. By the end of the first battery I was around 16 seconds.

The track record is around 13 seconds, but that was probably set by a B44 or some other 4X4 Buggy.

Anyways, I ended up averaging around 15.0-15.5 seconds, which is not far from the average lap time for mod 2wd buggy.

Most of the 2wd buggy guys average between 14-15 seconds.

Anyways, my first day with the new electronics was awesome and I would like to thank you guys for all the help.

Now all I have to do is get some more practice in this weekend!

Thanks!
-Venom

P.S. Also after a lot of running that day nothing broke, well I did pop 2 ballcups...
