Is the light/weak case issue just with high speed models? Thank you for your post, it was very helpful.

Its not hard to swap the case at all. It did take a little wiggling to get the electronics out of the old original case, but nothing major.

I have seen 1 other 9100s locally do the same thing. The one guy I have seen running a 9100t (torque version) had it fry the electronics in about 2 weeks in his 1/8 buggy. Counting the current discussion, I have talked to 3 people on rctech that have had the exact same problem with the 9100s. Personally I wouldn't be real interested in getting another jr servo after what I have seen out of them. It would help immensely if jr would label this servo quite clearly as on-road or throttle use only.

Before anybody starts slamming me saying they have been running jr servos for the 30 years & never had a single problem, I'll make a deal with you. You have your opinion & I have mine. I expressed mine nicely, please express yours nicely as well.

Application : Surface

recommended for on road based on specs (transit speed)

Everyone is free to look at the link and come to their own decision, I'm not gonna get in a pissing match about it.

IMO going from a 9100s to a Savox will end in disappointment, They're $70 for a reason. You're getting a 70 dollar servo, nothing more nothing less.

Savox are fine, a nice upgrade for the money. But don't consider them equal to higher dollar stuff on the market. You're not magically getting a $100-$140 servo for 70 bucks.

That seems to be a reoccuring problem, I have seen numerous JR servos throughout the past few years have that constant twitch at neutral. I believe it was the top case that was cracked where one of the pins that held the center gear rested. It wouldnt be able to find center and would stutter. Alot of the guys continued to run them and it didnt seem to hurt anything.

Ok then, would you or anyone else like to buy a 9100s with a twitch at center when the wheels are in the air? Make me an offer, worst I can say is yes

For me, I'll stick with my "cheapo" savox 1258 that has not given me a single problem in my 1/10 buggy (& no I don't use a glitchbuster with my spektrum 3100 receiver).

In the end...XP1015's are my servo of choice. 200oz./.10 transit all for a hundred bucks. Not cheap but they just work.

If your budget only has room for a 70 dollar servo Savox is fine, if you can swing the extra 30 bucks it's worth it..IMO

Savox, got a couple for free (new), I wouldn't have been happy if I had spent 70 bucks on them.
Futaba, have borrowed a couple in the past..very nice but too spendy for me.
JR 9100s and 9100t...again used some for awhile (not mine)..nice but not worth the extra $40+ over the XP1015

all IMO.

Every JR servo I have ever used has ended up doing the dreaded JR neutral twitch of death. And the Horizon/JR customer service is some of the worst in the industry. I will never use JR servos again.

I've got a savox 1268 that's taken a ton of abuse with me learning to drive in sc10 4x4! I just put it in my rc8.2e. Been very happy with it, but it is a$100 servo. Also have a xp 1313 that came in the 1/8 buggy I put in my 4x4 for now until I can replace it with a better suited servo. I used to race rc10gt ten years ago and Jr was the cream of the crop. I just got back in the hobby this year and still think they have great products but I am a bit worried about my $$$$ servo having issues after one solid hit. Does anybody have reviews of radio post servos? I think airtronics is top of the line also, is that still the case?

I like your way of thinking so why wait til next year:

1. What's the diff. between ball and gear diff?
2. What's the diff. between the b4, b4.1 FT, and b4.1 worlds?
3. What is a shaved U-brace?
4. What gearing should I use for a 17.5, 13.5, and 10.5?
5. Do foams (open or closed) really make a difference?
6. Regular stick or shorty packs? Heck would saddles work?
7. What is the best way to mount the wing?
8. How tight should my slipper and ball diff be?
9. What's the best hubs to use (A,B, or C)?
10. And my favorite one of all, when is the B5 coming out????!!!!!!!

R.shackelford maybe sit this one out as you are pretty salty, maybe general setup if your feeling nice.. No pressure tho. Haha

Waflet you do part numbers.

I won't say much except for maybe talking smack on crappy battery company's. (my tech always gets corrected by someone)
