I have ran the shorty with the big bores in 17.5 and it was great, all depends on setup

So now that some of you guys have had some time running big bores, how are they working out for you. Worth the investment?

Truck seems to be more stable and forgiving with the big bores.

Thumbs up

l just got my truck going and i tried both the stick and the shorty. I felt the shorty made it a bit quicker and more nimble. I still had plenty of traction too, wheelys everywhere. But im on v2s with bb springs. Ive only raced it for one day, so i have a lot more testing to do.

Are you placing the Shorty towards the front or using spacers in front and rear to center it?

Mine is just a little bit back from center. I used the normal pads to get it to where i like it and then cut a sc10 battery foam to fit.

Im waiting on some shortys to experiment with in both my Sc10 and my T4.1 for blinky 17.5 racing. Im sure the car as to be faster with that much weight cut. How much are your setups changed from running full stick? I've tried the AE BB's but find myself always going back to V2's with bb springs. I need to test some more with them but have'nt had the time.

The shorty works well for stock but I felt it made the truck twitchy in Mod. I like the way my truck feels with the Reedy Wolfpack; it's heavier than a shorty but lighter than a standard full sized pack.

Also I'm now running the AE VTS slipper in mod. It works well with heavy HP and helps to smooth out the throttle response due to its increased weight.

I run on a low bite, and the shorty blew chunks. I could not get any power down with 13.5. Many people here assume your running on medium to high bite. So it is often best to tell us about your track.

I just bought the jconcepts hex adapter conversion. Does anyone know if the all 4 hexes are just the rear sc10 hexes? I like the avid hexes better but dont want to order the wrong ones.

Thanks!
