I'm getting ready to buy a couple of short course 2WD trucks for this spring for my son and I. Just curious what a good steering servo for this truck is? I like Savox servos. Was looking at the 1256 or 1257.

I run the solar servos in my kids truck. for $15 I cant really complain and after 2 months of the little one crashing all over the track... its still good.

I tried the longer links and the batter back inch.......the truck was better and worse. the rear was not breaking free, so that was good. but it also didnt steer for crap, lol. The track conditions were not idea, so I will give it another week or so like this.

I'm still running the plastic U brace. I haven't really found a need for the aluminum one. :\

On another note, after a solid month of club racing twice a week (including winning a winter points series, the first race of which was my first race with the SC10FT the day after I built it and my first time driving a 2wd SC ever :wierd: ), I have not broken any axles or had any issues with that whatsoever.

That is because you do not drive like a goon like some of us.

There could be some truth to that.

I also think a lot of people over tighten their wheel nuts too much.

I was using the 1257 in my SC10, recently swapped in a 0252 and really like it. It's $30 cheaper and feels great.

Savox and Spectrum dont always play well together. Lots of brown out and
glitching problems, at minimum I would get a glitch buster cap if your running
Spectrum.

I just bought a Savox SC-1258tg servo for my FT SC10 I am building and it doesnt look like its going to fit. This is my first build, so hopefully i just don't know what I'm doing, but the holes for the servo are on the bottom of the chassis but this servo has them on the side and it barely fits in the box the servo is supposed to sit in. doesnt look like there is even room for a servo horn....HELP!!

the servo should fit, but it will be tight. I think you dont use any spacers with the savox. Just mount the servo straight to the mounts.

It will fit. I'm using one in my SC10 and a T4.1 along with two B4.1's.

Might need to stand on your head, look to the left quickly shifting a look to the right, all the while whistling Dixie, then it'll fit............

Seriously, it does fit. Look on youtube and you'll see how it goes in.

i would try jconcepts ball cups!!! my xxx-t would brake where the thread are cuz
of the harder plastic. with the rpm and stock cups are stiffer i guess but i switch to jconcepts and it stop braking. + jconcepts seam to fit a little tighter so you have less play. the negative of jconcepts ball studs is they can stretch out faster then the rpm but only if you take them off a lot. i also use the white ball cups not sure if there any different.
