I feel ya and know exactly what u mean. Regarding your rant (...lol!) I feel the same way. I will not fall victim to running out and buying the BRAND NEW SC or RC8Be.2 because its .2 = version 2. I owned 2 each of the (2) RC8Be's and (2) SC8e's. This here being my second SC8e posted on this current thread. And hands down, they are flawless in design, durability and performance. But can't blame AE for always moving fwd.

I agree....I still run my FT RC8B and my 2 SC8s....I thought about updating the suspension on all of them, but I like the way they are now, so I changed my mind--no need to spend the money on updating 3 vehicles when I enjoy driving them the way they are....LOL....I'll upgrade later when the parts are no longer available for the ones I have, or maybe update one of them later on to see if I like it ...not really on my To-Do List right now.....I just can't stop driving my SC8e....brings a smile from ear to ear every time I run it....THE BEST SC TRUCK EVER!!

on the topic...I can't believe I have not had any bots on the FS thread for the AE RC8E.2 shocks BRAND NEW!
Looks like I will end up keeping them and may install em on my SLASH 4x4 instead of the used D8's I picked up.

Needless to say I agree. I've seen so much about how much smoother people think their RC's work after spending a couple hundred on hopups. To some degree they've probably got a point, but if you're just taking perfectly good parts off and '' upgrading '' just to say you did, I'd rather buy another battery or something. Don't get me wrong, I know how much fun it is working on my truck and trying to get the most out of it, and if money isn't an issue I say more power to you. I'm shoping around for my next improvement all the time, but, I can wait till I need it, who knows the next better thing might be on the drawing board right now.

Thanks for sharing and expressing yourself
ANYWAYS, So, I have a question. With the STOCK SC8e shocks are you able to upgrade the bodies to the aluminum shock bodies and metal shock cap/bleeder? Part #s for front and rear? The only other item to change would be the actual spring after that, CORRECT? Maybe I will just do that to my stock shocks turning them into the shocks I intended to purchase and install.

Getting back on course, so I found this thread from a guy converting a RC8B to a RC8BE.2. The ONLY parts listed RE: Shocks are the boots, pistons and shafts. Does this mean all else is the same? And does anyone have the total size difference in the FT shocks from v1 and v2?...This situation is driving me crazy! I really would like to just keep em rather then get rid of em, but at the same time, if there is any negative attributes to the v2 being short enough to effect the performance on my v1 SC...Then I would get rid of em... blah blah blah...I will stop now. Thanks

You can't run truggy tires on an SC8, but buggy tires, why not? Especially if you're just shredding around in the street, a set of old bald buggy tires would be fine..
I'm totally conflicted about what to get: SC10 RS, SC8.2e, HPI Blitz, TT ST-4, or maybe even an RC8.2e RTR(10 bucks cheaper than the SC8.2e..) The best value-for-money seems to me to be the SC8.2e Slick Mist for €505 shipped.. But now I'm reading stuff here about dubious electronics or whatever. Shocks are a non-issue for me afaic.. One, I have a whole backup set of FT Big Bores for my buggy, and two, I don't care about a few mm here or there. One thing making me doubt the SC8 is that IMHO SC8's totally suck on rough tracks.. My nitro SC8 has been awful on the tracks I've run on.. Jumps awfully, gets caught up in ruts and wind and gets sent cartwheeling, etc.. Which makes me wonder if maybe the buggy is better... Just can't decide...
I think a new RTR RC8T-e truggy is what I'd really want..
The RC8.2e RTR has a pretty good reputation, doesn't it?
