Default orion- lrp problem

Hi I have a orion pro 2-3s and before I had it with a 6.5 vst but was very slow and I just bought a lrp x20 4.5 but I have a problem, is that the engine is only revs to the middle the throttle suddenly doesnt respond and suddenly works again and revs to the end and suddenly doesnt respond and revs to the middle and do this all the time ... I updated the software of the box and the esc and have recalibrated esc anyone know why that is? i have a sanwa mt4 an orion 90c lipo batteries but with the other motor worked fine

Have you tried a different sensor cable with your new motor? Orion ESC's seem very, very sensitive to the sensor cables. Also, check your voltage cut setting on the ESC - if you raise it above the default 3.0v/cell, Orion ESC's will tend to cut under acceleration and that's even more likely with a motor like a 4.5.

Just double-check that it was left at 3.0.

I´ve discovered that the lowest the lipo cut is the less the car stops but yes at 3.0 it keeps doing it and i´ve tried different sensor wires but keeps doing it too any idea why this could be?

what servo are you running they tend to "brown out" especially with Savox. those draw so much power that the ESC will dip and brown out

Combination of the new motor and that servo could be doing it. A 4.5 is way more powerful than a 6.5 and although Orion ESC's have a very good BEC, it may not be enough for that motor and a Savox servo. Try it with a capacitor in the receiver.

It's the servo, I run the exact same configuration as you, get the spektrum cap and plug it into your receiver. I have an SC with the Novak Cap and it browns out all the time. End game, I'm going to change out servos, Savox makes a great product for the money but to me the brown out issue is a deal breaker so I'll be sellling my 1258's
Good luck with this

i beleive the spektrum is a 5800uf. but its a 10v rated cap. caps are overrated by 4v typically. try a 16v rated cap.
