Hey guys I am sure it has been discussed before, but what is a good, economical servo for my SC10? I was looking at either the Hitec HS-625mg or the HS-645mg. I used to have a Savox SC-1256tg in there, but when I started racing 1/8th nitro buggy I put it in there. It was way overkill anyways. Thanks guys.

My kid used this. It works and is fast. It is low profile so easy mounting

Some 8th scales guys are using this one with good luck. It is not low profile though

The torque rating on those 2 are fine, but, they're slow!!

I'd spend another $10 and get something a little faster. Just mho.

I have the Hi-tech 7954 or 55 in mine and I have plenty of speed and torque. Maybe a little over kill but great servo for under $100. I have to agree with Shagnat the ones you listed are a little slow. I had the 645 in mine and it was a little slow for me.

I've got an MKS DS1210 in my T4 that was only $35 but its probably right on the edge of being strong enough for a short course truck. Metal gears though.

Not sure I'd go with that servo. Waaaay more torque than needed and a touch slow. I'd rather go with half the torque and a touch more speed.

I just don't like servos in the .12+ range. And absolutely no need for that much toruqe.

Hey guys,

I need some help here. I recently bought one these bad @#$ trucks and came to find out I might need to learn some things. Well first, I have racing a T4 for sometime and did alright with it. When I jumped into this truck I noticed the steering is way different, I am having hard times going around tight turns. Where I am racing at is an indoor carpet track. I thought it might be the vechile, but after watching some other people run slashes and losis there are cutting the turns allot better then me. I got the rtr rs version, everything is stock, but I put my savok 1258 servo in it. Will this servor be to much or not; causing it to turn that well or will I need to make other adjustments? I tried different shock postions and shortened up the wheelbase and nothing seemed to improve it. Another thing when hitting the double the nose of truck stays pointing up even after slamming on the breaks ( it never comes down). By doing this it is causing the truck to slam down and usally flip over also if still on the wheels I give it throttle and it pauses's for some seconds??? Lastly the truck has alot of torque there is enough to pull the tires off the ground and when racing on carpet it is almost to much any idea on some changes that I can do so when I hammer it it does not pull the wheels off the ground? I know this is a long post, but if I can figure some of this stuff out by the next race it might be that much more enjoyable.

I didnt understand some of that. use the slipper to prevent wheelies. Maybe pick up a vts to spread the load. If you are using the rtr servo, it is crap. I would replace it. I dont even make my 7 year old use the rtr servo. for setup help on carpet look at petitrc. I would assume stifer oil and springs. outside on the hubs and inside on the tower for the shocks.

Hitec 985 is great if you don't need a digital servo. The savox 1258 is an excellent servo as well. The low profile Solar servo from hobbypartz works well, as that is what my buddy runs in his sc10.

I run the Solar 770 in my kids sc10. She has a month of racing on it and it work fine. Plus it is like $20 shipped.

First off, since its the RS, I would put some medium or thick ca glue on the 2 halves of the servo saver and make sure it's tightened all they way down, but don't over tighten it or you will strip it out.

Secondly to make it turn make sure your radio endpoints are allowing the wheels to be turned fully both directions and not stopping short.

Then move your battery all the way forward. If that doesn't do it then also use some stick on lead weights and add a 1/2 oz to each front triangle next to the servo.

Finally loosen you slipper so that it slips for a foot or so when you take off on high traction, like carpet. And to help the load on the slipper you can add the vts slipper from the 4x4 or get the Avid triad slipper set.

I'm considering to convert mine to a J82, have anyone ever done this to their SC10? The chassis is a bit longer, so will the body fit ok and other parts?

Wow, nice chassis! Who makes that chassis?
