... I think the switch to 25.5 came with the phasing out of the other power options. That was in 2010 and Robk had not had the reigns from Doug for very long. He alerted us to the rule change almost a year in advance. It was a brave bold move for him and I still commend him for the guts it took and the grief that he got for it. Everything you have stated did happen. Its just the why and when that I am not absolute about.
Thanks for writing this detailed description. I was just too lazy to go that far into detail.

Sweet!
Thank you Protoform. I can't wait to see what their new Camaro body looks like. Any bets as to which year/model it will be? My guess is 1970 Camaro SS.

But yes, a 74t/50t will fit no sweat, I just realized you said you have spec gearing at your track....lol.
You may have to trim some of the webbing away from under the pinion area, if you haven't already done so.

Didn't the 21.5 option come on at the same time as the 4cell/17.5?

This was the time when the gear limits came out to try to let everything run together. It also was when the dynamic timing mess started showing up.
Honestly, 27t 4 cell would have been super fun to stick with, but as motors and batteries started to dry up, the only way to grow the class was 2s lipo. If we had 1s lipo when things started to change, we might have considered it. At the same time, it took a while for 1s escs and stuff to make 1 s easy. At first it would have required rx packs or boosters, which complicate things.
Anyway, when we go to LiFe, everything will be perfect.
I KID! I KID! TOTALLY NOT SERIOUS!!!!!!!

Nothing is changing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have found over the years that went I go to events, I spend money and even track my purchases on a little sheet of paper in my wallet. I try to eat cheap and sleep cheap. Then, I get home, look at the credit card bill a month later and find out my wife was out SHOPPING while I was gone to the event and usually has spent far more than I ever thought about...with NO permission!
Morale of the Story. Go to the damn event and enjoy yourself!

I recommend a 72t spur, it gives you lower / more overall gearing options. CRC makes them for 12th scale. I currently run a 72t spur and a 56t pinion with no problems.
