You didn't mention anything about tire sauce?....Last week on our carpet track, I only sauced half of the back tires and it was real loose...sauced all the way across, problem solved?....just throwing it out there.

Default Need a little help please...

I am making the switch from offroad and back to carpet onroad and need a little setup help please...

What would be good starting setup on new chassis buildup for 32'x72' carpet track... Plan to run Jaco Blue tires and this will be for 17.5 class as they don't have a mod class going yet.

Key things I need please:

Starting 17.5 gearing (Ballpark...)
Chassis Setup
Body...

Any help is greatly appricated.

Thanks

FDR probably in the 3.8 to 4.0 range

Kit setup is a good starting point, to get an idea of what the team guys are running look here:

http://www.teamassociated.com/setupsheets/TC6.1/

Protoform Mazdaspeed 6 body is a good balanced body for carpet.

Welcome back

Are the set screws for CVD's really necessary? The metal retaining ring seems to do a good job at keeping the pin in place.

Mr, Hebert gave me a quick tip that I had not considered.

Tc6.1 arms.
Grind the area where the spring retainer meets the arms.
Just enough so they dont rub in all arm positions.

I had been struggling with chassis tweak, shock lengths, weight balance etc only to find that the retainers were not allowing the shocks to work freely.

Small pointer = huge relief in frusteration.

Just wish I had done this in Vegas and not at home.....Oh well next year

Just posted 4 Mains from the iic on you tube.

Channel= DaveChen.

That's what I was thinking. What's up with the DCJ's in the rear, too?

Blue is still harder than silver in reflex. Haynes was playing around with the AE silver front blue rear spring combo when he came down to MRH to test.

The DCJs in the rear is a feel he likes. It makes the car really rotate in the middle of the corner out. When he came to MRH (my home track) to test, I tried it, but I didnt like the feel of it, and was faster with the standard axles in the rear.

Yes that is acurate, you will notice the rear is laid all the way down, when you press the car on the board it feels "normal", it helped carry the car well in the small sweeping corners

The dcj in rear let the car "float" on the track, it is an acquired taste, but i posted exactly what was on the car.

As Mike mentioned my car may not be what your used to driving, but i have used this setup for the last few months and it has been decent on any track i have been to, small tweaks like camber link shim and swaybar are all i really change.

Also make sure your rims are not rubing, i shave the lip on the arms as well just to be safe.
