My 2 cents: I race 17.5 and 13.5 2wd clube level. I have owned two TLR 22's and I currently have two 4.1 Worlds cars. The TLR and B4.1 are both very strong cars, neither will break your budget as far as repairs go. I am pretty good at tunning a car and setting it up, and I take extreme good care of my cars. They are used for racing only. The B4.1 is easier to setup, and adapts to the changing track. To me the 22 was hard to keep adjusted. One round it would be spot on setup, and the next round it was almost immpossilbe to drive. My 4.1's are forgiving and seem to stay good all race day even when the track condition changes. Most the guys at our local track went back to the B4.1 after buying TLR. The big bores are a great addition, got them already, however don't think you need to invest right off if you dont have the funds. The big bore springs on the regular shocks work well using the adapters and is an option til putting the ae big bores on. Thats an opinion from someone who has owned both. The TLR experiance was VERY frustrating for me.

I'm guessing the issue is with the spring hitting the TB?

not placing blame but shouldn't you be able to see that when you put them on?

my point other brands..cough TLR doesn't have an issue with spring rub on the shock body.

Honest opinion, dont want favoritism from sponsorship. Is the Traid slipper to much for a stock class?

"too much" I wouldn't think so, it's a tuning aid/refinement of the OE part. Would work well the same for stock or mod....better than OE..IMO

I have the STRC on my SC10 and the Avid on my B4.1. The STRC gives the same feel as the Avid once you super glue the STRC, so it's solid like the Avid. I hate Integy, but I run the STRC bellcrank, and U-brace. I have been running the STRC for a couple years without problems. But I will say, if someone wanted to trade me an Avid for my STRC, I would trade because the Avid looks so much nicer and Avid is the new hotness in rc lol.

Why would it be too much? Stock motors can still generate a reasonable amount of power. I think as mentioned, if it is an upgrade in mod it is an upgrade in stock. Granted it may not be as noticeable.

I love my avid rack but personally I'd use the associated VTS slipper...it's only $15 or so and uses any spur gear that replaces the stock one...

I'm pretty sure you have to use the AVID spur gears with the Triad set up.....I like the Jconcepts silent spurs myself.

Not trying to hate on Avid....love their rack and their carbon towers....might even try some of their springs on my B4.1WC and SC10 soon....

Just did a video review of the rack just need to post to youtube.

Working on the video for the VTS now...

When I tried a full pack w/ my t4 I had to put it full forward to get it to turn which put the weight balance forward which caused a noticible nose down jump. With the full pack to the rear it pushed, but jumped well. If you only have full size packs, I would recommend try it in the rear & tune with camber links (roll centers & camber gain), & tires (rips & 3ds instead of scrubs/vectors & dd's) to get more front end traction. For my track I'm running vectors (aggressive) & dd's (w/stock &1 inserts) with the shorty slightly rear of center (2/3 of the total spacers in front). If you can't get the car to work with the full size pack, make sure you borrow a shorty before you give it up.

I also tried the new bb's for the race Saturday. I found a setup I liked during morning practice, but ran out of time to test everything I wanted. We had a small turnout for buggy so with only an a-main I wasn't real concerned about qualifying & kept trying new stuff. As a result I qualified poorly. The set setup I used for the mains was the afore mentioned vectors (aggresive) & dd's (green w/ &1 inserts) with losi red/white springs on the new AE bb's with 30/27.5 oil. To make matters worse, I got tangled up on the 1st lap & fell way behind. I worked my way back up to 3rd & was a turn behind 2nd (setting the top 3 fastest laps of the race along the way), when my battery dumped with 2 minutes to go. I put the battery that I used for the 3rd qualifier & a few minutes of testing before the main back in. Oh well maybe next week.

The good thing about the weekend was I love the new bb's & they work well with the same setup I used on v2's. I also found out I don't like pro line medium or AKA red inserts in green dd's but I love them with the &1's on my track.

Omitting the obvious. Having gone through the gamut of 2 wheel drive buggies this year (minus the Cougar SVR, and Tamiya TRF201), I would rate the 22 the 2nd worst, with the Durango DEX210 being the worst. I drive a Kyosho RB6 now and love it (have always been a Kyosho guy but the RB5 was getting long in the tooth and had stability issues with being so short in the wheelbase department), but I know everyone wont spend the coin I did in getting one. If I was forced to pick another car it would be a B4.1 WC Edition with the following updates. AE Hexes, Avid Triad Slipper, AE Big Bores with Kyosho Springs, Avid steering rack. Body is preference, but I like the Bulldog's more aggressive approach to steering over the Finnisher body. The Losi is inconsistent from lap to lap, any objective Losi driver will tell you this. As well as the huge problem of their shocks blowing out if the wind blows the wrong way. Parts wear on both AE and Losi platforms are a concern, and without proper shimming the AE buggy is the sloppiest of all of them. Yet with those 2 problems, it is still miles better then a 22.

Avid 100%, I have them in all my AE cars. Back in the day the STRC made my SC10 real loose and twitchy for some reason, removed it and have never looked back.

Finally got a chance to run the new Big Bores + Kyosho springs Sunday and it felt......

The same! Lol... I did TQ and win my buggy class, so my buggy felt as it did with the v2, kyosho o-rings, and losi red pistons, and same kyosho springs. I'm not really sure if the upgrade is worth the $100, but I can say it won't make your car feel worst or different.

My 2 cents.
