That's about right for indoor. You could bump up a tooth if you feel you need it.

Thanks!!!!!

I'm not sure how hot after 16 minutes because I don't have a temp checker. If I put my index finger on it I can't even hold it on there for a second. I was thinking maybe I could put a 22t on and turn the max throttle down, would that work? And if you know of a good cheap temp checker could you tell me of it?

150 will feel hot with your finger. Get a temp gauge.

I run the same motor/esc combo on my RCBE. I have it geared at 19/46 and motor temps at 165 or so after a run.

any cheap 20-30 dollar temp gun will work fine.

+1 on going up a few teeth, i run 19/46 on my rc8be and it flies and stays cool.

The best is the exergen. It better be for the price. Any of the cheap ones work fine. Better than your finger.

the t8 motors can take some heat but you don't want to go over 200 degrees for any length of time. i got that straight from the horses mouth on the tekin forum.

mine come off the track at about 165 after 10 minutes or so.

I recommend a small one like this Duratrax. Then it's easy to carry, you're more likely to use it often and right at the track. I have lots of calibrated pro stuff at work and it compares fairly well for accuracy, and can be picked up at most any RC shop for $20~25 last I checked.

FlashPoint Infrared Temerature Gauge

I don't think it's needed, but for anyone who wants more accuracy, consider a thermocouple unit with a contact type probe. That will be more accurate than any IR device regardless of price or brand. No need to guess or assume the emissivity value inherent in an IR based device.
