K guys, switching back to my B4.1 after four weeks trying to run the RB5 and Dex, neither of which I can run hard and push limits consistently like I can with the B4.1. The thing is I took the Losi springs off my B4.1 to run on the Kyosho bb's. So in my thinking I could just swap the shocks over.........do I need to do anything special to do so?

the 2-3 cell is taller and has a tall heatsink, take a look on the pics on their site. The race says race on it. scroll down to right after the external capacitor for pics

Use longer shock screws and some spacers. A few guys did that.

Thanks... Orion sure make it difficult...!!!
I would think it would be pretty easy to stamp a model #.

Thanks, I guess I'll take it apart and play around with it and see what happens.

Top 10 reasons you keep coming back to the B4.1 platform...?

I'll start it off...

#1. Crazy cheap parts....!!!

Well it's a pretty dialed buggy too....

#2. I can run it past it's limits and it doesn't get crazy, and that's kinda how I drive so it works for me.

fixed.... Just need to decide whether to put the Losi springs back in or try to get the Kyosho shocks on. I set the Durango to mid motor as a back up for the week.

Hideeho
I just saw on redrc.net that jc is coming out w/ a rigid aluminum bell rank set (like avid) that looks pretty light weight (nice!) & some battery thumb screws that require a wrench (why?) & beefed up aluminum wing mounts(???). Why on earth would you want aluminum wing mounts? They are going to add weight, not necessarily a bad thing, but it will all be up high!? Do people break them a lot? I wreck fairly often, but have never broken or bent a plastic one. I have only seen 2 break, ever. One was on a tc02 that stopped at the end of the back straight & got rearended by a 4wd sc truck @ full speed (I apologized profusely & bought the kid some new ones). The other was my son, while learning to control the attitude of a jump he landed 3 or 4 times in row off a big double tail 1st & finally broke it (he had to pay for his own). So, do you really need aluminum adding weight up high for durability?

The plastic wing mounts do bend and then the wing does not sit straihgt. I won't use them on my B4 because I like to screw my wing on instead of using body clips. But I will be getting a set for my Stadium Truck

drill the aluminum ones out and thread them with a 4-40 tap wont wear out as quickly as plastic.

What are you guys using to mount screws on the rear wing instead of clips?

This is kind of a tough one cause it all depends on how you like your car to feel. I generally prefer to run stock rear inserts cut down to 75% of foams left and stuff them in there. They also tend to me at least to stand up to tracks with big sweepers a lot better then closed cell foams. At least in my experience. Both have their good and bad qualities (cannot get stock foams wet, or mush time quickly, Closed cells take time to break in before you have optimal traction). If you use sauce on your tires I would say to use closed cells as they stand up to getting wet a bit better then stock foams. I clean my tires with a wet rag on the tread pattern instead of dunking them in a sink full of simple green. But it all comes back to what feels better for you on the track.
