new remote batteries, fully charged lipo. the thing that makes me doubt a brown out is sometimes it will stay wide open for a second, almost like there is a delay turning the throttle off, then sometimes i loose everything. who has delt with AE for warranty issues? are they fast? will they have new electronics to me by my tuesday race, or should i just upgrade?
I bet they don't want to change cause there are so many kits out there already and parts available but, hey, they need to update and compete.
I have always been curious about this 4x4 chassis and how it could easily be converted to B44, B4, T4, and SC10 2wd with new center and front end designs. I know that mid motor is not the preferred layout for the USA but people have mad it work so why not.
I run on a large outdoor track, when dry it's hard packed, very slick, dusty, very bumpy, ruts all over the place, lots of elevation changes and off camber downhill or uphill turns, when damp it's good to hi grip, we have a large sweeper into the straight, and a sweeper at the end of the straight.
I don't hate the SC10 4x4, but setting it up I could get it good for part of the track, and it would suck for the rest, or the other parts of the track and have to go slower thru the sweepers etc, the truck was probably faster than my new Losi, but you could not really tie a hole race together, lap after lap.
I used all the gear out of my SC10 in the Losi, rims tires, motor, ESC servo, the lot. First race it was just planted, you could push it really hard, it just flew thru the sweepers and the infield, turns great, and very very easy to drive, lap after lap, I pushed the leader in two heats, and after using the drives as practice I cleared out in the last, winning by almost a lap, had real fun.
Not hating on the SC10, but for the track " I " race on, and the way " I " drive, the Losi is better. My SC10 2wd rocks, love it and always place up the sharp end with it.
I know these toys are for fun, but if you come second your the first loser.

I'll get more testing in with it this coming weekend it looks like. It will be on this track:

at the very end of this video, you can see the track conditions very clearly. Racing starts at about 3:20 mark. Down the straights you can darn near do a full 360 as it can get so slick.I can go from wet and sticky to dry, dusty and very loose in a couple of heats.

yeah, it definitely is. There is this one jump that usually takes you right into the wind. you really want your vehicle to jump nose down with little height there. I was catching the nose on the wind a lot,and with it being loose, yeah that sucked lol.
Very fast drivers there and great variety of vehicles too.

Had an exotek and ended up dumping
It. Just wasn't as smooth and predictable. Lap times showed to be better without
If you are running on low grip and getting tail spin consider lightening up you shock spring in the rear and increasing camber to get more tire contact. Also make sure your chassis is level front to back.
Well, I sold my sc10 4x4. This is not a glad to be gone post, I sold it because I needed the cash to fix up my kids truck. But, I finally figured out what was wrong with my sc10 4x4. It was the driver (me), lol. The guy I sold it to when up to Glitch in phoenix and took 3rd in pro4 and never ever touched my setup, lol. Even ran my motor, tires, servo and esc. He only added his receiver and put it on the track. So all of my issues with the truck were "My" issues. On a side note, he was really surprised at how well my $67 esc worked in the 4x4. Lesson learned, before you blame the truck, look in the mirror, lol.
maybe, still trying to sell off my extra RC stuff. My kid has been doing well in racing and I am trying to upgrade her ride and electronics. Honestly, I need more time to work with my kid, so i am cutting back on my classes. And I cant sell my B4, I just love the 2wd buggy class. I liked a lot of things about the sc10 4x4, a few things I disliked, but overall a solid truck. And i learned a crap load about tuning trying to get it right, lol. So I wont bash the truck, it is a good truck.

SC10 4x4 would be AE's 1st venture into metric in 1/10 scale.
Yes, down with standard! I doubt there will be any more standard stuff from AE unless its based off of the B4/T4/SC10 platform since its cheaper and easier to get metric fasteners overseas where AE kits are put together.
