So i am lost here. I have a rc8be with a mamba monster 2200kv setup. The gearing is 15 46. I was running 2 newer (always balanced charged) Trak power 5600mah 60C packs on the street. After about 5 min i stopped and both packs were puffed. The motor temp was 150F and the esc was not hot.
I checked the lipo's cell voltages battery 1 had cell voltage of 3.93 and 3.94 and the other lipo had cell voltage of 3.97 and 3.98.

With the temp being around 150 i thought i was good. was i under geared?

P.S i just recharged 1 of the lipos it took 1387 mah and finished with cell voltages of 4.204 and 4.206

so i recharged one of the lipos and it took 1387mah and cells ended at 4.204 and 4.206

You should run with a timer like 5-6 min.
A lipo don t like to be full discharged. It may be cause your "puff"

It might be too much of a load for your batteries to handle.

I agree with huggybear...my buddy has a losi 4x4 sc and it has puffed 2 packs.

3.9v is no where near low voltage cut off and even further from complete discharge.

I agree that it is more than likely too high a draw. Running on concrete/carpet provides alot of traction and will result in a higher draw than running on dirt or grass.

You seem to have decent batteries so this is kind of perplexing.... Were the lipos warm? How many cycles are on your batteries? Ever puffed before?

Packs had about 10 cycles on them. It was fresh blacktop the car was hooking up great.its going to be on a clay track. So guess i can just hope it was the blacktop that caused it.

try gearing down for bashing and rolling the throttle, the motor is going to demand the most amps with tall gearing and full throttle, if you can ease that it will work the batteries less. You should temp the batteries too.

It may have been the at battery did go much lower than that but then recovered by the time it was measured. A high load will also cause low voltage.

guess The answer is to keep the car for the track and off the street. lipos are to expensive lol

Just change your gearing depending on what kind of driving you are doing and you should be fine.
