Default Avid rack

I just installed the Avid rack but it seems like there is a bunch of play. I believe it's shimmed correctly ....is that the way it's supposed to be or did I do something wrong?

Did you add the small bearings in the rack? Also, make sure you use a little locktite and don't over tighten the screws that go upside-down.

I am currently running 20/87 gearing with the stock electronics in my T4 & my temps stay between 145-160 depending on the outside temp. I have found this is a good setup as far as decent speed throughout the power band considering what ur running, stock I mean.

With the stock set up I would run 24/78 all day,no headaches.

For those of you guys running stock truck, how tight do ou run your slipper? How far does the front come up when you hold the rear wheels? I run on a decent sized indoor high bite track. Thanks

My front wheels come about 1.5" off the ground.
IF the track has a good amount of traction in the corners I tighen it 1/8th of a turn

if the track is lose. I take 1/8th of a turn out or adjust to have the wheels come up .5 to 1"

I'm a new owner of a T4.1 for racing stock ST. I currently run a B4.1 and my SC10FT just sits at home. I've moved my SC10 electronics over and I'm looking for the T4.1 Hex conversion but I'm afraid it won't be the same offset.

Hex Conversion part list:
  • ASC9881 - Front HEX Axle
  • ASC9880 - Front streering block
  • ASC6953 - Low Profile Lock Nuts
  • DE Racing Trinidad 2.2 T4 HEX (Jconcept makes some too)
  • AVID Hexes (much better than Jconcepts/Prolines)

As for Big Bores... which springs tend to be popular for high bite (WCRC)? I currently own the AVID front set and have a lot of LOSI rear springs I used for tuning.

I ran losis today and it might not be just the springs but I ran 20 21-22 sec laps in a row and it was the first day I ran the truck, it felt dialed, I ran green fronts and yellow rear, but you also should buy white rears

Thanks for the info! Do you guys run HEXES or does anyone know if the current B4.1/SC10 hex setup is the same OFFSET with the T4 hex wheels?

So I am running a t4 (not 4.1) and after changing the gearing, I just threw it on the track stock at WCRC and it pretty much drives itself. Handling is that good.

Is there much differance between the 4 and 4.1? Also, does anyone have a preferred setup for clay (WCRC) they can share?

Thanks.

Cannot believe how nicely the t4 drives stock.

B4.1 hexes are the correct offset (I run the avid ones).

I do not run hexes, just the way it comes in the kit.
