SC10 4x4 Thread
well WC i did 2 things to the truck.. change the tires up front to the RTR's and re-checked ride height.. the truck felt more consistent and not as twitchy.. first 2 rounds of qualifying i got a 14 lap pace which is fast in the pro4 class.. couldnt believe it. barcodes on the front are way too aggressive for my liking.. also got the fastest lap last night too! 21.9!
ride height is at 23 all around..

I rebuilt my eBay purchased 4x4 and shimmed the diffs using shims from some B4 gear diffs. It's got an RS Pro and a X12 8.5t in for now to see how it does just for a laugh.
I've put lighter fluids in the shocks so I can experiment with swapping them on to my FT.
Be interested to see how long the massively worn diffs last. If chucked a load of shock limiters on and I'm gluing up some stock tyres as they seem to work so well on our track.
All good fun.

well im back from Connecticut. the 2012 Short Course Nationals at R/C Madness on August 3-5 was alot of fun.i had an issue with my esc all weekend that i didnt get figured out till after my main. one of the techs was there from castle creations and he got me back on track. ven though i did bad i still had a great time. met some cool people and got a nice sun burn ! mother nature even gave us a show on sunday. i have more pics i will share.
Oasis ran Yellow Fronts in the front, and Blue Fronts in the rear. Here is the track we ran on last night.

If somebody could teach me how to avoid hitting turnmarshals in the foot who walk onto the driving line, or avoid cars heading the wrong way on the track at full throttle, I'd never loose a race. It was fun to win last night, but it wasn't any fun to take Seth's kid off his feet to do it.

Hey guys, has anyone heard of taking the belt drive off of this truck and making it a 2wd sc? I am asking because I have this truck, but they are only running 2wd at my local track and I don't have the coin to drop on a new vehicle.

It's in our buddy's backyard..surface is HOOKED UP! drivers stand is a C container with a wheelchair ramp, AMB system..if your ever in the central valley drop me a line..track can be opened for practice, and theres an indoor track about 5 miles away..
a) Too heavy
b) COG is too high
c) Even if you remove all the gears, outdrives, and CVDs from the front to lighten it, you're just making the weight distribution even worse.
If you want to race, and you can't get enough 4x4s together to get your track to introduce the class, then buy an SC10. You can find them for cheap enough. I got mine as an RTR minus the radio for $100 with virtually no wear. I took that same truck to a TQ with a 3rd place finish at this last weekend's Novarossi Challenge, with the only chassis upgrade being hexes on all 4 corners and the lipo battery strap. Electronics were swapped out for LRP Sphere and x-12 8.5.
