Any suggestion for pinion size with the castle 2400kv system on 4s? (What is Austin Blair using?)

At least it looks like the front/rear diff are installing hinge pins and not threaded hinge pins like the mbx6 and 808 (stock). It is a pain to remove all hinge pins to get acces to the diffs, and specially when its near impossible to screw on the nut in the fronts hinge pins of the mugen.
The center diff is really easy to take out. There's 5 screws that hold the diff & motor mount on, the whole assembly comes out super easy. You don't even have to readjust your gear mesh. By far the easiest car I've ever worked on.

Austin is running a 15 tooth pinion gear with the 2400kv motor.

Ok, I have not read trough this thread and I hope that this has not been discussed yet?

I made some weight calculations between this buggy and the Losi SCTE. If you equip this buggy with only a 2S 6000mAh pack and a Pro4 motor you will save 448grams (0,98lb)!

If the numbers from Tekno is correct (3400grams for a RTR) then the total weight for a EB48 buggy on 2S with a Pro4 motor is 2950grams (6.5lb). Compared to a SCTE which is over 3000g (6.6lb).

I would like to see this buggy on a 2S with a Pro 4000 motor. What do you guys think?

It has already been discussed and I'm sure it will work. It would be light and have all the power needed. This said I would prefer a 3S configuratiion with a 4 pole SCT motor of about 2700kv

3400 RTR is correct with the listed equipment. Your measurements for the Pro4 and smaller battery are also accurate. However, you need to add the weight of an SC body, bumpers, and body mounts to that number. So it might be a little heavier than what you have calculated there.

He never said he wanted to run it as a SCT. It is probably very comparable to a converted 810, probably 6-8 oz heavier, but it will actually stand up to 1/8th scale power systems.

IMO it is a really bad idea.

4WD SCT runs 2S LiPo because of ROAR rules that limit battery voltage, not because it is a good thing to do.

There is a discussion on that subject in this thread:

In particular, pay attention to this post:

Man Im really loving this, everytime I look at this its awesome.

WHEN IS IT COMING OUT!

EDIT: As I look at the pictures on the Tekno website Im worried about the shocks and the ride height. All the pictures show the shock adjusters WAY down.

A lot of the pictures on the site of the completed buggy were done with pre-production parts and do not necessarily reflect what the final version will look like. The shock springs are an example of such parts and the reason why the collars are so low in some pics and so high in others. Rest assured, the final version will allow just about any ride height the user will want

Yeah I figured that, some of those parts in the pic's look pretty darn rough around the edges.

Going to get one either way.

Default Pre-orders filled?

Hi tekno,

I have pre-ordered the EB48 on Stormer...my question is...will everyone that pre-ordered get a kit during the first shipment? Or will be there be an additional wait time for all the pre-orders to be filled?

Thanks

We've got Stormer covered in the first shipment.
