Forget those, I'm wanting to know the release date for Tekno's RC tank! Complete with BB gun and HD camera on the turret!

I just saw a video on vimeo - looks like an awesome buggy design.

Placed a pre-order with Stormer. Their price is $484 plus shipping. Ordered the Traktion drive while I was at it.

BTW, Stormer has the Traktion Drive, but doesn't carry the clutch bells to go with it.

JasonD from Team Durango said "The DNX408 is leaving the factory now, sorry for the wait, but we don't use your hard earned cash to test our cars, that's our job."
I think, that we shouldn't push too hard Tekno to release EB48 too soon

I feel, that EB48 will be my car for next season, so I'll read very carefuly this thread for the next few months.
I was in love with Hobao, but I see that something bad is going on with this company from 2 years
I just wanted to see one option part for this car in future - metal spur gear
Our tracks are dusty and dirty, so the plastic spur is the last thing what I wanted to have in my car

Metal spur option will be available 1-2 weeks after launch. It's recommended if you are using Traktion Drive or Elektri-Clutch.

I've always been a TLR fan when it comes to 8th scale and driving style, but the EB48 looks amazing. I've held off from buying a 2.0E because it was just another converted nitro. I like the handling of the LOSI's in bumpy, rutted, loose tracks. I have preordered the EB48 and was wondering is the TEKNO comparible to the 2.0's in handling and driving styles and is slow fast with the EB48?

It depends on setup. We've been able to setup the EB48 to push or steer, have low speed steering, high speed, etc. It depends on the track and what you need the car to do. Usually you sacrifice one handling attribute for the other (traction vs. steering for example).

After driving other buggies back to back with ours, sometimes we find something that our car isn't doing as well as the other car. But the rest of the handling is usually better than the other buggy. Then we mess with the setup and try to dial in some of the attribute that was lacking without affecting the balance of the other characteristics. After doing this for over 9 months now (I know, when is this thing going to be released? ), we think it can go head to head with any buggy and perform better if you take the time to set it up according to your driving style.

As far as loose and rutty tracks, that's actually one of the areas we feel our car is better than the competition. You don't have to look any further than the front shock tower. It is high and wide - higher and wider than just about any 1/8th buggy out there. This allows you to stand up the front shocks more than on other cars which results in very smooth bump handling.

The other thing that can really affect the bump handling (and small fast jump landing) is bump-steer. The bump steer adjustment on the EB48 is very precise. Not just a simple pivot ball that you turn one way or the other. At first we thought it was tedious to set on our car (8 small washers on either side), but after playing with it for so long we feel it's not only necessary, but very useful to get exactly what you want.

With the other adjustments on the front of the car such as roll center, camber link length (also relates to roll center), Ackerman, front arm sweep, and toe, the bump steer is affected slightly with each adjustment. We feel that being able to fine tune the bump-steer to accommodate the other adjustments has made our buggy more consistent.

Quick question , why did you guys go with straight cut ring and pinion gears for the diffs instead of spiral/helical cut gears ?
