Interested in maybe a VTX1 for a 21.5 blinker 1/12th scale class we have. The last few pages of thread has had mixed sort of results. How are these currently running 1s? Receiver packs? I would like to run without. Also, if I buy the esc with prg box, can I update software, or do I need another cable to connect to PC?

21.5 1/12 came about because 1/12 had basically died in our area. A few of us started running a 21.5 blinker class. The reduced speeds had us all racing very close. That temped several VTA racers to step up and buy 1/12 cars. We ended the season with a solid 9 cars. We hope to add a few more this fall when we start carpet racing again. The class has been great. No BS, no ego problems, just the right speed, awesome tire wear, and just a lot of laughs. It's what a novice/stock class should be.
So, I am fishing around looking at esc alternatives. The no booster/no receiver pack of the VX1 is tempting. It appears the blinky software is ROAR approved.
Would I need an additional cable/adapter for software updating?

how much the VTX1 weigh? I run 10.5 boosted WGT and I am looking to replace my tekin rs pro. The VTX1 looks like a solid unit but I am not sure about support for it in the UK.

I need some help
I need a good setup to start with for a 13.5 boosted setup. I will be running a SpeedPassion v3 13.5 with the VTX10 on an Xray 2011. The track is pretty big, big enough to run 1/8 scale so I would guess that the straight is about 120 feet. Any setup help would be appreciated.

It was indoor carpet with about 100ft straight, you'll probably have to adjust your FDR down some but, it should be a good start.

Calibration issue: no brakes
Hello,
I installed a new vtx 17.5 system yesterday, but can't get the radio calibration correct. Forward works fine, but I have zero brakes. Was hoping someone could give me a clue. Here's what I did so far:
1. Turned on radio, neutraled all trims, and set throttle endpoints to 100. (radio is an old Futaba FM 3PDF)
2. Held down the red button on the ESC for about 3 seconds until the beeping musical tone indicated I was in calibration mode.
3. When the F and N LEDs lit, I held full throttle while I pushed the red button once for about a second and then let go. A tone sounded and then the N and R LED's lit.
4. I then held full reverse on the transmitter while I pushed the red button for a second again and then let go. After a slight delay, the ESC beeped its musical tone and entered Race mode.
However, I have no Brakes. Forward throttle seems fine (very fast and the F LED lights up). But there is no brake whatsoever nor does the R LED ever light up when I brake on the transmitter.
I've tried to set my endpoints to 120 F and 120 R and repeated the process but same result.
I've also tried different profiles as well but the same result.
The sensor cable seems attached correctly as forward power is smooth and very fast.
Also, in case it matters, firmware is A30.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Paul

Got an X12 with a VTX1/Ion3 13.5. gearing 76/38 rollout about 73. Currently profile7 defaults.
Looking for a bit more mid throttle punch. Small track, so only touch full throttle once per lap, top speed is not an issue as I'd really only touch it for a fraction of a second then start slowing.
Should I
(a) put a bit more accel timing in
(b) change the start/end accel rpms
(c) change the rollout? I'm a bit clueless here - I see people using 60->85...
Also brakes seemed a bit weak, but easily workable. Not sure if this is due to a rwd pan (my first one)?
