Default Ghetto!!! ROAR Spec STOCK Class B4 FT.

Well I am building a Ghetto Stock B4 Factory Team.

Yes I said B4, not a B4.1. Now the idea is I want to get racing in stock for under $200, yep $200 Can I do it, well shipping to Aus is what is going to kill me most so have to find a way to limit that.

Now to get started I bought it as a roller for $100 and it came with an old castle creations setup which I have managed to flog for $50.

So at the moment I have $150 left, but…. it came with spare parts! I also have 2x Associated Brushless SC700 ESC units and a Reedy 3300kv motor that I can flog off… But I don't know what they are worth.

What is left then you ask?

Well I need:

Body
Motor
ESC
Servo
RX

And that will get me running, I have things like shock oil and diff oil. And it came with a set of Proline Cailibres in M3 Compound.

So far my build goes like this:

Motor: Gens Ace 17.5T Motor $50 + $9.50 P&H Total $59.50 www.feralbatteries.com
ESC: Hobbywing Just Stock 45amp $61.40 + $35 P&H Total $96.40 www.hobbypartz.com
Servo: EXI 227F $15.70 (Shipping Included Above) www.hobbyypartz.com
Body: TA Default Body $13.75 + $5.09 (P&H) Total $18.84 www.amainhobbies.com
RX: Spektrum SR200 $29.99 (Shipping Included Above) www.amainhobbies.com

Total Inc Shipping….

$204.73…

Plus the $50 already spent on the Rolling Chassis I am at $254.73.

So to complete this project and still be within budget I need to sell the SC700 ESC's and Reedy 3300kv motor for at least $54.73, if I can get anything more then i can get spares such as springs/wheels/tyres.

Or the questions is…. can any of you come up with a better plan! It has to be 2WD Buggy Stock Class legal (basically ROAR for down here in AUS) Shipping for parts must be included.

So thoughts? Can I do better for cheaper? You be Crazy? We will see....

the motor and ESc will be fine I would just set the ESC to no Timing (stock) and the punch level at 1 and start from there. once you get to handle the power then start ramping up the settings

Default Ball diff parts

Hi,
I'm rebuilding an old FT B4 and trying to turn it into a B4.1 FT...

Questions:
Ball transmission: The housing is pretty warn so I'll replace it...what is the correct part number? The latest B4.1 FT manual states it's 9826 but the Associated website says that is the gear diff housing.
Is the correct part 9574?
Bearings : For the ball diff, is the correct bearing 9832 (10x16mm) or 3976(3/8 x 5/8)
What is the correct outdrive for the ball diff? 9852 or 7668?

Thanks

get the new rear tower to allow lipos to fit better. Also, the rear T Plate is different. The new tranny wont fit on the old t plate.

Hi,
Thanks but I'm still left with my questions...the tranny doesn't seem to have changed from the B4 to the B4.1....
Do you have the part numbers for the t plate and rear tower?
Thanks.

What size motor is good for the B4.1 for an indoor clay track. Medium density, medium size track. I'm thinking 13.5T, but, wondering if 10.5T would be better.
This track does not run "blinky", so just 2wd buggy and I "assume" most anything goes.
Oh, the track is very technical, lots of tight turns, jumps, and whoops.

If you dnt have a long straight then the 13.5 boosted is fine, if its real technical like that then it seems as if you will never be full throttle
