Default How much is too much

Hello,
I have a stock B4.1 RTR and was looking to purchase a couple of LiPo packs. Looking at the specs for the ESC it appears I can use either 2 or 3 cell packs. So my question is what should I look at for a nicely balanced pack. I'm looking for something that will give me 6-7 min of run time, but something that is close to but not over that edge for control ability.

What is the big difference between the 2 and 3 cell packs? Aside from the obvious 7.4v to 11.1v. What does that extra voltage actually translate to?
For that matter the (c) rating vs mAh.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated (as long as those suggestion won't melt anything except maybe a few tires)

Thanks

go with the 2 cell, the C rating is more important than the mAh (IMO) i would probably go on hobbypartz and just get a 40c battery

Most tracks do not even allow 3 cell packs to be used. You will want to go with a 2 cell. Here is a link to a great pack: http://www.promatchracing.com/prodde...prod=2s500050C

Promatch makes great packs the only promblem is its hard to get them because they are never in stock!

Would any pack with similar rating be fine? I've found this pack
(GENS ACE 5000mAh 50C 7.4V) which is in stock.

Unfortunately where I live the closest track is a little over 2 hours away. I've been making plans to build a track myself. I've even tried to post a pic of it to get feedback but the site says I'm not allowed, not enough posts yet. Heck I couldn't even reply with quotes. lol

That's a great battery and R.O.A.R approved. It also will give you 15-20min run times.

More like 30 mins unless youre ripping full speed passes nonstop. I ran a number of the Gensace batteries and they were outstanding for the money. I'm running Promatch shorties right now but just ordered some fullsize Reedys to test out.

Yes like others have said the Gens Ace name brand, makes good packs for great prices. I used to run those packs untill I had 2 packs just stop working for no reason. But for the price you cant go wrong!

If I remember correctly once you reach 10 post you can post links.

As others have said 2S is more then adequate.

On my B4 w/ a 17.5T boosted setup I get around 45 minutes out of my 5000Mah packs if I run em down to cut off. But I normally stop at 20 minutes.

I run pretty much exclusively now GensAce packs. They are a tremendous value for the money and have yet to let me down. I run 5000mah 40 or 50C packs in the B4, and 5300 65C packs in my SC10.

Great, great batteries!

As far as C ratings go.. It's an amperate rating.. So 50C battery will deliver 250Amps of current.

Cracks me up to see guys running 90C 5000mah packs (450Amp) in 10th scale stock when most stock setups will only pull 100amp max at peak.

Anyhow, www.hobbypartz.com. Get them there.
