I am reading a lot about the ceramic bearings offered for this truck. Are they considered a maintenance free type of bearing? Do they roll that much better? What are the upside points for putting these in? IS there a downside? Are most people just putting them in the axles or throughout? I would think the bearings in the diff's are rather well protected (understanding that I am sure no bearing is completely protected from dust).
I ran Dualstage, V1/2 as well. It's not a matter of how "good" the truck is. My truck is great, I get compliments all day long for how smooth is drives and how much faster I am than the large annoying 4x4's. But i'm just as fast with a Slash 4x4. (highly modified "employee edition" the guys call it) I can run the Slash far more aggressively than i'm comfortable with and it says "kay?". The Sc10 4x4 is on pins and needles the whole time. I have to take a deep breath and relax after a heat because I feel like i'm "barely" in control just hanging on by a hair when I get those laps that people compliment. Is that most likely me? I'm fine with that honestly. I will 'never' buy a Losi, but I'm going to have to be a two truck man since I no longer have the same amount of time to spend hours going back and forth from Track to bench (or the money)
I've been with this as long as some of the best, But I think it's getting ahead of me now. Going to relax and work on it more calmly while the Slash can go
and go. Y'know?
And Beaven, I'm not going anywhere. I don't know what part you got me "mothballing" my truck. It remains my fastest truck and remains my favorite.
But it's like being married to a Stripper. (think about it)

win..
I am trying to like my SC10 but it's not easy to do so..
If your bashing then IMO no its not worth upgrading because even the original sc10 was built like a rock........ The castle 2400kv motor will need some modding to fit, basically you'll just have to dremel/sand out some parts of the chassis where the rear of the motor would be.......
Got an extra chassis brace for sale if anyone is interested.

I noticed earlier that one of my sway bar pivot balls is in pretty bad shape (the ones that screw to the a-arm). Is there any alternative to these? The hardware set containing them costs like 20$, which is more than one swaybar kit itself.. that can't be the only source for these pivot balls, can it?

Just want to say after reading this whole thread I've decided to finally register and join in on the conversations. I bought a first gen sc10 4x4 and raced it for about a six month period, then went to a losi scte, and now just built the ft. I really think the new ft is pretty good out of the box. The Losi was fast but I never really enjoyed driving it, so now the ft came out I had to try it and I can honestly say the move was right for me. The associated is just a blast to drive! I've been tuning and playing around with it a just went to the exo tek chassis, my times dropped by about a full second so I'm very excited again about this truck. Just wanted to check in and say hello, all the info on this thread is awesome and I'm looking forward to getting faster with this truck and using the great advice of others.
