received the new DJ uni's yesterday, nice piece of machinery. Hope to test them tomorrow if its dry on our track. Also mounted the new knuckles from the tf6sp, if you only change the knuckles it's impossible to get full steeringlock (wich will be way too much I presume).

Couple of questions.

1) When you take the CVD out, do the balls fall everywhere?

2) If you're sticking them to the axle using grease or something, do they get clogged in a dusty environment?

Yes and yes. I changed my front unis to tamiya cvds and run TF5 spool cups, and I use dry lube on the rear, but the diff can also be converted to blades using tamiya diff outdrives (2 pairs required per diff)

For what it's worth the ball unis feel better on the track, super direct and more steering under brakes

mmm, but converting them to blades defeats the whole point of buying a TF6

I really like the idea, but I can just see balls everywhere, and getting angry haha.
Have you ever had them pop out due to a crash?

those shafts look like they are kashima coated... nice!

I wish Kyosho will just Kashima coat every bit of alu in their high end kits....

1) not always ;-) if you put enough grease on them they will stay put if you''re carefull, on a crash you will loose them if the axle pops out, but that rarely happens
2) depends on the track, I've mounted a piece of foam on the axle that sits just before the outdrive, keeps dust etc away.

Also just recieved the new Rear belts for longer lifespan, and new DCJ's for in the rear of the car to test out, they all look very nice.

Yeah that's why I got rid of them. At first I rebuilt and cleaned them every meet, and that was fine. But when you need to change a belt or diff at the track, and one of those ball drops out, then it can be really frustrating (especially if you've had a big night). They aren't worth 1/10th a lap or anything, so it's not a big issue to change over.

The car is great otherwise, premium quality, great shocks, and super fast.
