A HW tech told me that the color was the only reason for price difference.

That's the R10 right? I cant see the v3 taking off at $217 bucks... Hope that price at retail comes way down once its available at multiple outlets.

The orion probably has a higher FET count. It supports 160a sustained and lot more burst compared to the v3 HW which is same old 120/760.

Just got a ezrun 150a esc off of fleebay for 96 bucks and some change. I installed it in my emaxx. Wow wow wow. I've ran it five times so far very hard, 20t pinion and castle 2200 motor. Its stupid fast and it pulls wheelies at full throttle. The esc almost got warm. I am a believer, you don't have to spend big money. All this stuff is made in China. Very happy.

They seem to only want to sell it at a few select places now...
I have cash in hand wanting to buy one with a HW motor and programmer and their main distributor for North America (Falcon) doesnt seem to reply to emails and CRC (their main support now for North America) has hardly any of their product in stock (only a couple of their motors)...not a good sign for support if something goes wrong in the future...

I need to pick up an esc for my 10th scale buggy so if they cant get it together within a week Ill be forced to go elsewhere (probably LRP as its the same price for the esc roughly and I know the support will be much better from associated)

Very odd, when I emailed falcon sekido I got very prompt responses. We're talking 6-7 emails from me with responses all within a few hrs if not minutes.

So far I have zero regrets buying the v3, I love it.

At least for the 80A, the blue one is retail, the black one is OEM (meant to be sold installed in trucks). The black one does not have a sensor port and can not be updated. Not sure if it's the same with the 120A, but it is likely.

That's not the R10. Think of the R10 as a v2.5 where the last hobbywing was a 2.1. That's the exact explanation that they were giving on the onroad for Hobbywing thread.

And I agree.... part of the reason I was considering the Hobbywing was the fact that it was alot cheaper.... now it would make more sense to wait it out and see if Orion releases an updated ESC, which would be like the v3.5 LOL

Not true. They are the same just diff. colors. Xeruns are all sensored or sensorless. The ez runs are all sensorless.
