If I were to buy the WC kit, what initial upgrades would I need to improve robustness. I've only got RPM rod ends on this list, anything else? Thanks for any replies.

Just use the kyosho big bore springs, losi bottom spring holder,traxxas spring adjusters. Avid steering rack is suppose to be the bomb. Not sure, but have some coming. Ran a friends car with all that. It was awesome. .5 second faster fast lap. Doesn't sound like much, but My average laps.6 to .8 second faster.

I'm a long time TC driver getting into offroad. I have a WC B4.1 and have been thinking about the kyosho 12mm big bore springs. Is it worth it? (White/Gold). I'm resistant because I don't want to get locked into "spring brand of the week" wars.

The big bore springs definitely make a difference. Makes the car easier to drive a consistent line. Losi springs do the job just fine I myself refuse to spend 40 bucks on 2 sets of springs! If money is no object they kyosho away my friend! Lol you will notice the difference running big bore springs either way you go!
Velvet shocks, $160 roughly, then you gotta buy alternative springs most likely.

It depends on how much money you want to spend. Will it make a difference, yes absolutely. The thing is will you notice, not necessarily, depends how far you've progressed on offroad. Like the above poster mentioned even if you use big bore springs it will help(pending who you ask) Word is on here that AE will be releasing their own big bore shocks, personally I'd wait the few months till they came out. If your real ancy about it, then do the losi spring conversion with the traxxas collars and losi cups. The kyosho shocks are really expensive, and even springs for them alone are expensive too. If money doesn't bother you, yea go ahead and the the kyoshos. I personally haven't used true big bore shocks yet(waiting for AEs), but I do use the big bore springs on my v2s. You'll here biased opinions of whether they work or if its worth it. I am a B main driver, very occassionally A-main, and I just learned to drive 7-8 months ago I think. From my experience, big bore springs, the car is smoother more consistant, seems to land better. Regular v2s, the car seems a bit more aggressive and dartier. So alot of people like the springs because the car feels better, is it faster, who knows. Some people say their laptimes picked up with the big bore springs, I couldn't tell you for me. I am still progressing as a driver so in general my times have been getting faster, and my lap times arent consistant enough to tell that I am picking up .6s a lap or whatever it may be. I can tell you if I picked up time on my fastest lap, but my thing is, like I said, too inconsistant, its offroad, there are so many factors, and realistically in my eyes atleast, unless you have a machine running the test, perfect traction, perfect laps no other factor, their is no way to really tell. Not between v2s and big bore springs, because the change in performance isn't huge where you might be like HOLY $H!T. This is all my personal opinion, some of the more experienced guys might disagree, and correct me if im wrong(please do). In the pits between races, if nothing is broke, I swap batteries, make sure no screws are lose thats it, and the A main guys, clean their tires, break down the whole car, some people rebuild shocks. I'm more focused on my ability to drive, somethings I'll never notice as a driver, so I dont bother to do, not yet atleast

Hit it right on the head. I was "anti-BB conversion" for the longest time b/c my car was great on the AE springs. I just switched this last weekend and can really notice a difference. Car feels like it's more forgiving and the ride is more "plush", still some chassis slap, but, it wouldn't be an AE if it didn't. I'd do it just b/c it's cheap and who knows you may like the way it drives after the conversion. I personally did it when I notice green paint on my rear shocks...I am extremely picky about suspension binding up and as soon as I noticed them rubbing, I made the switch. Won't go back until the AE BB shocks come out.
What is your current setup now? I occasionally run on close to the same type of surface.

K/yellows with Losi white big bore, looks stupid but was awesome to drive with.
yeah, most people will notice a change in handeling, but realistically i dont think most will truly know/notice a difference in laptimes. I don't think the effect is that drastic. And in all reality, alot of people gripe about AE springs because they rub the shock bodies...big bore springs rub on the camber links. Now I do understand 1/10 scale is subject to much larger reaction from little changes...but like I mentioned in my previous post, with offroad with so many variables...and with this specific topic, too hard to tell in the sense of lap times. The only thing that is noticable really is the forgiving-ness and its less darty. I really only left my conversion on because it looks cooler. Soon ill go back to AE springs out of curiousity.

I'm doing the opposite. Going from the 22 to the B4.1. Will keep the 22 for a while and do an A/B comparison. For me the 22 always seems to push a little. Even after you make adjustments, correct your steering habits, etc, it still is not as tight around the track as a B4. At least thats my experience. Also, the 22 is a lot more sensitive to adjustments. Sure I could adjust for more steering, but then I loose rear traction. On the plus side, it is a very durable and stable buggy, and the BB shocks are easy to work on.
