I like running the lightest sway on just about all tracks unless really bumpy. I like having the tighter feel more than the soft & forgiving feel.

You may want to try tightening your diff as well. When you spin out does it look like just the outside wheel kicking up dust or both?

The way I tune my ball diff and slipper now is like this and it's been working well for me.
1. Find the toughest turn in regards to keeping traction on exit.
2. Start with loose diff tight slipper
3. Come out of the turn and hit full throttle to make it spin out
4. Tighten the ball diff till either both wheels spin out or I get too much push around the rest of the track
5. Then loosen the slipper until I can't make the short run-up jumps/sections
6. Adjust punch on esc, or expo on Tx, or travel limit on throttle, or just lay off the gas coming out of the turn to prevent spinning out.
7. Make the best measurements I can on the slipper nut distance from the end of the shaft and the amount of turn put on the diff so I have a good starting point next time I come back to the track.
Yeh its a great place =) sweet. i run the gear diff so should i just put in some light fluid to make the diff loose?

Or could u guys suggest anything better on both the servo and motor/esc combo for around the same price
The Savox servo you listed is a very popular choice for the F.T. truck, and works excellent! It has lots of speed and torque and for a great price. I'd highly recommend it. As far as the esc/motor go... Obviously the Sidewinder combo will work decent, but it is not really what I would suggest. You need to remember that the sidewinder esc can only support sensorless motors, so your limited with the motor you can run. Rather, I would suggest you pick up a Castles Mamba Max Pro esc. It will allow you to run both sensorless and sensored motors in your truck and will allow you a greater amount of adjustments. I know it costs a bit more, but its 100% worth the investment. It is a very popular esc on the mod SC10. Then, as far as the motors go, I would say go with a sensored motor, if you go with the MMP esc. Popular brands are LRP, Tekin, and Novak..., and my personal favorite, Thunder Power. As far as the turn goes though, it all depends on your track, but 10.5T is often a good starting place. Go to your local track and see what everyone is running, you will most likely see a common one. Hope this all helps, good luck with it!

if you want to save some cash, get a hobbywing xerun 6oamp esc off ebay, and be carefull of savox if you run spektrum dsm1, they usually require a cap to eliminate the power out glitch to reciever, some people hate it,some dont. ae xp 1313 is a good servo that does not seem to cause brown outs

Default Castle 3800 gearing

Have a castle 3800/mmp combo. Currently geared at 23/87. Seems to still be winding up at the end of a long straight. Thinking I need to re-gear to get more bottom end. Have done the torque test and have set it at 10. Feels like I need more bottom end. Running on a large indoor track in San Diego that has high traction. Thanks

just an FYI, and maybe its just me but when I went to a total of 2.5 degrees of rear toe in from 3.0 I was previously running that helped a lot with traction rolling. Very good on the track this past weekend. (carpet over jumps, lots of 180s)

Im gonna try racing on carpet for a change from clay. I figured I can put the sway bar I bought with the truck might be usefull. Which bar should be sufficient? The surface is high traction CRC carpet. I usually run blue front and green rear springs on clay but im thinking of going red front and silver rears for carpet. Any suggestions from thos racing on carpet?

On the fastlaps carpet here, people use the blue fronts and green rears from what I could tell. Stiffer springs the car did feel good, but definitely needed an oil change.

For the sway bar, silver was popular.

+1 on that servo and the Mamba Max Pro, but if you do run that combo I would go ahead and get the external BEC from castle as well to prevent glitching.

I ran that setup on the SC104x4 first with the specktrum glitch buster, but eventually my MMP got to where it didn't want to fire up unless I had the internal BEC set to 5.0V instead of 6.0V. Tech at CC said it was the servo wearing out the BEC. Switched to the External and it was all good since.

So when I build a 2wd SC10 I did the external BEC off the bat and have had zero issues.

I think on carpet for spring setup, it may have more to do with how the jumps are faced. If they are smooth ramps like dirt tracks then stiffer may be better, but on my track I had to drop down a bit because some of the ramps are steep and straight with no curve, just a hard angle, so i was getting way too much bounce at the bottom of the ramp and it would be unpredictable coming off the lip.

I've got a 5700kv motor now, and going to 3000kv (13. 5) and need a good gearing place to start. No clue, but if I had to guess I'd say 84/29? Thanks. Medium sized track.. Medium traction.

That dude could drive a truck made out of tinker toys and rubber bands and still kick my butt. That's a craftsman who knows his trade.
