The OFFICAL Maxx - Build - Thread.....

I sold one of my factory race spec. RC10B2's and I still regret that
I saw it in the for sale section on the Traxxas forum last year
3906 E-Maxx

I saw it in the for sale section on the Traxxas forum last year
3906 E-Maxx
Thats actually another one that I sold
I bought 2 parts trucks and after buying a few parts to complete each one, the one in the video was the one that was not as nice. It had stock 3906 driveline and was in decent shape but needed a couple things, and I sold it pretty local. The other one(silver) was the one Dhthmn114 bought and it was in really nice shape. Had the new style diff's, driveshafts, knuckles, center shafts, shock towers, etc... I kept it for a little bit, then posted it for sale and Dhthmn114 bought it. I have owned I believe 3 E-maxx's. I always end up selling them because I have my Monster GT that I have converted to brushless with an E-Maxx transmission and its really all I need in the electric 4x4 MT class. I always have liked the E-Maxx's though. My father in law has a bone stock 3905 that we just ordered a brushless for last night.

Dhthmn114 - Im glad to see you are enjoying that e-maxx buddy. I didnt have a real need for it or I may have kept it, but i definately enjoyed it while i had it

Yeah man! Thanks again for the sale!!! It's come along nicely... I would say that "for now" it is "finished"... When I get home wed I'm posting up pics of the finished product with all the new stuff installed... Plus I have to get busy rebuilding my Summit.... Bought it used off a guy the other day... It's in need of some TLC... Nothin a $250 TH parts order wont fix!!! Lol!! Truck and parts are waiting patiently in my hobby room!!! But at the same time I have a woman waiting patiently in the bedroom!!! LMAO!! Such a quandary... But pics of them all are soon to come!! Not to mention the pics of my 70# Asian Carp I caught up in Paducah waiting on the Kentucky lock to clear us for entry... That post is over in the chat forum...

I never really understood the problems people were having with the VX12... I had the EVX in my original 3906... But I don't recall why they made the change.. That's around the time that Traxxas and Novak hooked up isn't it?? I'm sure that had a lot to do with it...

The VX-12 wasn't strong enough
URGENT RECALL AND REPLACEMENT NOTICE: Traxxas® Corporation is announcing the recall of all VX-12 electronic speed controls. The VX-12 comes as standard equipment in the Traxxas E-Maxx™ electric monster truck. Traxxas has determined that some components used in the VX-12 speed control are overly sensitive to moisture. In the presence of moisture, these components can short circuit and create a fire hazard. In addition, improper wire routing for the BEC (battery eliminator circuit) can melt the insulation from the wires, short the BEC circuit, and render the VX-12 inoperable.

Yeah and I got my E-Maxx in around August 2001 and if you do the maths regarding replacement ESC's and the time it takes for the first shipment with the new EVX to reach Europe .......
Then I had the first gen. EVX
Remember I told you I replaced the white connector with bullet connectors DUMB MOVE
I reversed one of the bat's and fried it (ca 2004)
I send it in but my LHS never send it to Traxxas for repair
so I bought a waterproof Mtroniks Super E-Truck ESC instead

What a mess.. I replaced my EVX with an EVX2... Wanted waterproof!!! Cause there are 1,000 springs, creeks, & streams within a mile of my house!!! Most aren't wider than your average sidewalk and ankle deep at that!!! They are a blast to drive through!!!

Yeah no kiddin!! I threw that parts list together so fast and hit "Checkout" within 15 minutes of logging in! Surprisingly enough Towers price wasn't that bad compared to other sites... Should have searched for a factory take-out from a Summit that someone went BL with... Heinsight is 20-20... All is done now!!!

I look at prizes and availability ..my wife says I'm more Scottish than Her when I shop, but I'm an idiot when it comes to buying stuff like candy, R/C cars and what ever we DON'T need
I love Her and She lets me buy stuff ...but She can't help poking me, I think it's there calling or something

Well ever since our daughter was born, my wife has been a stay at home mom... We didn't want to both keep working and have our daughter raised by a daycare... So I am the only source of income... When there is room in the budget to play with, I do what I can.. As long as bills are paid, food is on the table, and nice clothes on their backs, I cannot complain.... But it won't be long before we start tryin for #2... And I WILL stay into the hobby, but I will lose my hobby room haha... It will become the baby room... At that point I'll have to figure somethin out real quick! Haha...
