i still think this is the best way

I believe you could get a HPI micro upto 70+, but I don't think AJG could. Anything is possible if your wallet is deep enough!

After reading through the other threads, and noticing his lack of knowledge on motors, car-setup, etc... I don't think he has the know how to do it. Look at the people who have done these speeds, Cliff Lett, Kent Clausen, etc. These are people incredibly talented at getting the maximum performance from their chassis and equipment... whilst AJG can't cut a comm...

Simply, don't make a claim if you can't back it up!

I just did a quick math check and his rear axle rotation speed would be 229762 rpm with micro sized tires to hit the speeds he claims he can do.

There is another problem with running a 540 brushless (or brushed for that matter) in a micro... the batteries. You will be hard pressed to find tiny cells that can push enough current to feed a hungry brushless. From running several different brushless setups (and also be an electrical engineer) I don't see a SMALL cell out there that can push more than 20 amps. The best I have seen are the cp1300's. fairly small, but I don't think they are micro small.

Would that be an easy thing to achieve by the time you include things like transmission drag, aerodynamics, etc?

I'm wondering how his 48,000rpm motor suddenly gained 16,000rpm overnight...

ok its simple, ajg isnt gonna get his car to 80 mph, nonetheless like 60. there are way too many factors, aero drag, drivetrain drag (especially the belts), friction from tires and if he does this on something on like the veladrome (i dont wanna check if thats spelt right) the banks pushing down on the car will create that much more stress on the motor and it just isnt possible.

I don't think any micro will hit 80 mph because the tires are simply too small in diameter. At 229,000 rpm, the g-forces on that tire would rip it right off the rim. Plus, bearings that small would not be able to handle that kind of rpm. They would heat up and disentigrate. A 1/10 scale car with a tire diameter of 3.25 inches would be spinning it at 97,254 rpm at 87 mph, a much more realistic number.

yeah, that ajg guy is a joke. I'm sure he comes on here and enjoys yanking everyone's chain.

He should change his incredibly long and laughable sig.

Like are we all supposed to be impressed by his car having a "large front bumper" or "heat sink"? ooooooh......the cutting edge technology.......

At least it should read "Status: Ficticious Performance".

I will admit that this thread is incredibly entertaining. I laugh my @ss off whenever he posts. He doesn't know how to solder batts end to end? take apart a stick pack. You'll see how they do it. cmon man. Last time I took apart a Trinity pack, they had the cells soldered together with thin metal foil that was able to fold up between cells as they are stacked end on end.

I agree with the one guy that said that someone might be able to get a micro to do that speed, but this guy certainly can't.

My guess is that he makes it go 10mph then shows the video at 8x speed, if he knows how to do that.
