What's the hot tip on soldering the Tekin esc? The wire doesn't fit inside the little grooves very well

what i would do is scuff the tops off the posts(that you solder the wires to) with a lil sand paper or something so the solder has something to grab onto better then put a little solder blob well not really blob but hopefully u know what i mean, put that on top of the posts then while you put the blob on there put the end of the wire on there as well ( make sure the wire is pre-tinned and not all messy) then while the wire is on there jus put a lil more solder on there (not to much though as you dont want to make a mess) around the wire and the tab to make sure there is a solid connection but make sure and read the manual to see how long they recommend to keep the solder gun on there so u dont fry the components from over heating them hopefully this helps cause this is the way i did it and it worked great

Having soldered 5 Tekin RS, 1 RS Pro, and having unistalled and reinstalled them a number of times, I finally have it down pat. I suggest if you don't know how to solder, or have very little experience, Have someone with experience do it for you. I also suggest reading "How To Solder" at the top of this category. Lots of useful tips and info even for the experienced. I used to repair pc boards, and I still learned some things from the article. With that said, trim about 1/8" from the end of each wire. Then, tin the wire, and lightly tin the inside of the post. After tinning the wire while it is still hot squeeze it with pliers to flatten it out. Then, check to see if it fits inside the slot in the post. Repeat that process until the wire fits. the wire will fan out form the squeezing. Trim off the excess with diagnol cutters, so it is the same width as the insulation. Insert the wire into the slot and solder. I use a "third" hand tool to hold the wire. I follow the 6 second rule, so as not to damage the esc from too much heat. Cover all of the posts with heat shrink tubing, partially slitting the 2 that are by the cap, so the heat shrink will slide all the way down the post. I have my iron set at 650*, I use 63/47 solder, and flux. Hope this helps.
