SC10 4x4 Thread
At the track right now trying the white front springs on the rear. After 1 pack I'm really liking it. Also went with a lighter front sway and heavy rear. Working on better on power steering. So far I really like the results. Faster on the sweepers and I can really get on it half way through the hair pins and hardly push at all.

If we get a big storm tomorrow, maybe I'll do that.
the rear spring rates are lower than the fronts. Putting "front" springs on the rear means you are using a higher spring rate on the rear that what normally would be used.
It doesn't affect the front spring rate.
So for example:
5.0lbs on Front 3 lbs on rear (just using as an example)
Now
5.0lbs on Front 5.0lbs on rear
It doesn't affect the front spring rate.
So for example:
5.0lbs on Front 3 lbs on rear (just using as an example)
Now
5.0lbs on Front 5.0lbs on rear
Front springs are slightly too short for use on the rear, so if you try them, you'll need a 2mm spacer between the eyelet and the spring bucket to shim it up.
If you have a set of stock blue fronts lying around try it. It'll fly a lot better.
The front springs are higher spring rates. The red rear (stiffest) is close to the green fronts (softest). I still liked the green fronts over the red rears because the spring is shorter. Just works better on my track surface. My last practice the whites where pretty good over the greens but my track right now has hardly any jumps and pretty high bite wet clay.
What are you trying to do?
Let me explain the problem again - the rear spring rate (in lbs) is too soft. All of the rear springs are too soft.
The rear spring selection is:
2.5lb White Rear Springs
2.8lb Blue Rear Springs
3.1lb Yellow Rear Springs
3.4lb Red Rear Springs
The front spring selection is:
3.5lb Green Front Springs
3.9lb White Front Springs
4.3lb Blue Front Springs
4.8lb Yellow Front Springs.
If you run the same color fronts and rears, you wind up with a rear spring that is 1/3 softer than the front, on an axle that has 15-25% more weight. This is bad. I can't speak for Cameron, but I would run longer rear springs if I could get them in much higher rates. Since I can't, I run front springs in the rear AND the front.
The result of stiffer springs is truck jumps better, is better through bumps if the track gets rough, and helps the torque biasing on and off power. If you try it, you need to run thicker oil in the rear than you were before.
on the rear so should i try using front white spring in the rear? or am I not getting what yall saying just trying to get a handle on this lol

I posted awhile ago about a clicking noise i was having under heavy throttle. I took the rear diff out and replaced the diff oil that was leaking out and put everything back together. The noise went away for a week or so and returned today at the track. It will click under hard throttle and while turning towards the driver side but not while turning toward the passenger side. What do you guys think. Just seems weird that it went away then came back. btw I am running the factory battery tray and stock slipper, but have the brace and mantis center diff coming soon.
Thanks

Thank u I understand now sorry for being so stupid or hard headed lol. i just thought if u had the same color it would be the same spring rate. Im not doing anything right now I was just wondering why yall were putting front spring on the rear but I understand now.
