Default Aluminum Hub Carriers

What's Up All!!!
I just picked up a set of Aluminum hub carriers for my SC10 and I was wondering why they come with 4 composite hub towers. Should only need two, oh yeah, they look completely identical but two are marked "A" and two are marked "B". I'm going to start measuring them to see if there is some difference but if anyone knows and would like to post, I'd love the advise. Thanks All

Sorry All, scratch the question, just figured it out. One is more adjustable than the other. More holes

The smaller pinion puts more load on. Putting a bigger pinion will help but you will wheelie like crazy which gets a little annoying. You can go with smaller spur if you dont have too many pinion sizes.
I have a full set of pinions from 12 to 26. I also have a spare 84 spur from the B4 I can stick on there and try it out.

My biggest concern here are the motor temps after I already fried the first one. I'll put the 84 on there and start with the 16 and move up / down and see where I'm at temp wise. Ideally I'd like to run this thing for a full pack (not necessarily wot the whole time).

Wheel stands don't bother me that much ... as long as I can get the temps down, I can play with the slipper and esc settings to smooth it out some ... at least I hope.

Molded camber link tower "A" has standard holes, and optional "B" tower with in-between options

I've done some measuring and actually I've been wrong twice. The total number of wholes is actually the same between A and B, its just the hole center to centers are different allowing finer adjustment. As adjustments that fine really wont matter to me, I just have a set of spares the way I see it.

They look really cool though, more blue is better!!!!

The A holes have more traction (lower roll center), the B holes have more camber gain (and higher roll center).

Why are poeple switching to Losi springs now? What do they give you that the AE springs don't?

For one, larger diameter which won't rub the shock bodies.

It's the cool thing to do.

When you squeeze an Associated spring in nvetween your fingers, you will notice it wants to kink and spring out side ways. That little kink will rub the shock body.
Losi springs when compressed don't kink and spring out side ways. You can compress it in your fingers and it will not shoot out side ways but will stay and allow you to compress it all the way down.

Plus they have different spring rates.

So, the other day I saw bds81175 make a post about getting some of the common info asked for "stickied". I thought to myself that would be a great idea to have a thread which contains some of the most commonly asked questions here on the SC10 thread. So, I decided that I would go through this thread and research the answers to questions asked here on a daily basis, create a new thread, and compile a huge posting with all of the questions and answers below. Hopefully, with everyone's help, we will be able to get it stickied, and can point new users directly to it for answers... just like an FAQ.

So, I need everyone's help here, to compile a large listing of questions to be answered on this FAQ section. So far, I have came up with a few questions and answers. They are:

- Why and how to convert non-hex hubs to 12mm hexes (part #'s as well)
- How to install the front 12mm hex hubs and carrier (labeled diagram)
- How to install the rear 12mm hex adapters
- How to convert the rear hub carriers to the larger bearing b44 type (part #'s and labeled diagram)
- Weight setups for various track conditions

If anyone can think of other questions, please let me know of them on here or just send me a PM with it. Also, I would request that if you are able to provide me with an answer to the question, that would be great. I plan to do this over a few weeks, as I want the final posting to be as accurate and unbiased as possible. I haven't yet decided if it should just include answers that are 100% concrete (like part #'s and diagrams), or also questions that can kind of vary depending on the person (like weight setups, etc.). Let me know what you guys are thinking, as this will have to be a group effort. Thanks for the help!

Rpm makes larger rear carriers as well for the sc10 that is a stock replacement for the b44 requiring the larger outer bearings. I like running anything rpm on mine

The info is already here. You just have to look for it.

There is a function in the upper right corner of the forum. It looks like this:



And put in what you want search. Or, search for my username, I've already answered those questions. Often multiple times.

I can honestly say I switched to Losi springs because I had nothing else to do. All it cost me was the price of the actual springs which if u look hard enough cost like 3.50 a pair. I made all the collars at work so it gave me something to do. I haven't run them yet but I am looking forward to it.
