Nope. I've seen them here as both hubcaps and as alloy wheels. Horrible in both cases.

Quick question....

Does anyone use the stock Tamiya gear diff in there cars?

Last summer I put one in my M05. I filled it with some grease I had on the shelf (?). Had a nice feel. I ran it all last year. At big races I was top of the "B" or Bottom of the "A". At club races I was always in the hunt.

Everyone else rans a Ball Diff. I tried one at the last race. The car was not to my liking.

I am going back to my trusty gear diff, but was wondering if I was the only one that liked this set up?

Chris, Tamiya TRF drivers use the gear diff (with gum). You are in good company with the gear diff.

Ackerman angle on m05, Less or more, none. what effect it on m05 ? im thinking of changing to no ackerman angle (both wheel are true to each other)

M03 is lighter, maybe reason why it is faster.

Gear diff is good, I would stick with it. Or the TA03 fully tightened.

Its funny how differently we all go about setting up a mini. Here we have a minimum weight of 1330, but its not enforced at a club level. I decided recently to bring my M05 up to the legal weight (I had scales, and chassis weights...). It actually drives better. I added 25g to the front bumper and 5g over the battery. Perhaps this is because of the hobbywing system. It does produce a lot of wheelspin, so the extra weight over the front helps with that.

I know a guy at our track that sets up his mini like this (harder rear spring, softer front), which is opposite to how I set mine up (harder front, softer rear), yet we race wheel to wheel. My car is pretty good on carpet, but its on rails on asphalt.

Biggest 2 things i've found with mini setup is ride height, and tyre choice. Followed by the diff to help the corner exit and get the power down. Otherwise its mostly preferential stuff.
