switched to viper and i have never had a problem. I love the orion feel also, viper feels just as good. I think lrp has to step up to the plate. Less and less i am noticing run them, plus the brakes blow.

so I was throwing on my trick parts in my 4wd, redoing shocks, when to the diffs and the rear diff gear has a chipped tooth, 2nd one!

Someone told me to tighten down my slipper but I had it set so it jumped about 2 inches when holding the back wheels..i guess thats what killed it...ugh..

On Thursday I ran my B44.1 with Losi big bores silver fronts and yellow rear.... buggy ran great, but felt the front end a bit off. So went to the hobby shop, picked up some Losi green for the front, ran even better. Today I changed the springs to Kyosho yellow front and white rear. Kyosho springs are much better then the Losi spring IMO. My buggy is running great.

The Kyosho springs made the my buggy turn into the corners a lot easier and better jumps. Losi springs were good, Kyosho springsd are better!!!!

Regarding the rear ballast weight #9776. The weight is 87 grams, but I've heard of drivers removing weight from it. Is this done depending on what battery pack is used? I'm guessing based off of the weight differences between different brands of batteries. Or is there something more to it? Any info will help.

I had a very similar problem when I bought my b44, I went through diffs every weekend. It's not the slipper, you have to re-shim both diffs and make sure the mesh is perfect. I would also check the metal balls in the diffs. You have to use a lot of the white grease between the balls and the pads.

Hard braking is the real gear killer. Good slipper setting plus softer brake setting the gears last longer. I put 5 spots of white grease on the gears and shim them tight. 6 shimms on the gear side. It improves natural braking and makes the gears ware longer. Down side is the gears may be louder. I have the slipper set at about 6'' the brakes set so the rear wont lift off the ground. My brakes will upset the kit but not lock up.

Its worked very well for me. I run a 6.5 and soon to be running 5.5.

I can understand that. 8.5 is probably the sweet spot on our current layout. But the straight demands power....lol

Well in all fairness I did run a pack I bought used for 20bucks lol. I think the pack is on it's way out cause it seems to loose punch towards the end of the run. My esc was overheating as well(without fan) so that may have caused an issue. But I run a 7.5 in my two wheel lol so my 4wd needs more.

Yes they are adjust the weight depending on the weight of the lipo they run.
Ryan Maifield is using a Reedy 627 which has more runtime and higher C rate than the pack that Cavalieri uses from Orion. So he cuts the ballast weight down some to keep the total weight of the battery plus ballast the same between both set ups.
