Default Mylaps question

I recently purchased an AMB transponder from a forum member. It looks 100% legit, and untampered with. When it's hooked up and the car is on, a red LED blinks slowly. At the AMB site, it's telling me the transponder is hooked up backwards- it should be blinking green.

Is this an older transponder? I am 100% sure the polarity is correct.

IIRC only the new ones should blink...at all. I have 4 older ones, all with red/orange lights and none of them blink.

old style did have green lights as well, not sure which is older, green or orange but neither one blinks...as far as I know

got a picture?

I found some instructions online, looks like the slow blinking red light is ok. When I hooked it up backwards (on purpose) it went to a fast blinky.

If you do some more digging, MyLaps will tell you not to mount it on the servo. The motor in the servo can cause interference and you may miss laps occasionally.

Little fyi

Thanks for the info- seems like every pic of Maifield's cars/trucks has the transponder right on top of the servo.

But what you said makes sense.

Depends on the servo, I've seen it work on some and not on others.
