ICRC, you posted you added weight to the front of the truck in an attempt to help it. Out of curiosity, where exactly did you mount it, and how much did you try?

3oz plus the weight of the heavier 6000mah gens ace packs

Agree.

Budget Racer, jack your preload on the rear shocks alllll the way up (collars down) and see if the truck is still clicking on acceleration. If the diff is bad, the clicking will stop with the increased ride height (the axles click the outdrives once the diff is worn...happens under hard acceleration as the rear squats, the geometry changes and the axles rub).

If the clicking stops, swap in a new diff.

here's a pic of how my CVA's looked after one session.

Mantis:

I was running the stock ESC and motor for the better part of a month and a half. Last weekend, I changed my setup for an LRP TC spec SXX ESC (V2 software) and a Tekin 4000 4P motor (14T pinion). The first thing that I noticed (I did some changes to the throttle agression settings and to the motor timing as well) was the dramatic increase in braking. On a very small table-top jump, I can pull the nose right under and if I hit the throttle, the nose comes up nicely (once I learn to control this and drive it, I might do ok against the Durango's that show up). Maybe a change in ESC may yield some needed flight control?

although that's really a 1/8 scale layout, I'd be there every weekend LOL.

the only comparable track that I can think that I raced at is called PsychoNitroBlast in Georgia. The jumps are huge!! I was running 2 wd and getting 10 ft of air LOL

what's your setup? Ideally your truck is doing exactly what you want it to do.

hey guys I just got first in tonights main but had a problem with my tensioner pullley. The side wall broke off. Would you guys recommend running the aftermarket metal ones? And also the belt is riding on the right side of the front clicker unit. Is that normal? Im thinking it shold be in the middle but might be wrong.

I am there at least once a week. I basically started racing with the sc10 4x4, at a closer, smaller track and learned to do good, but since i stared driving at these huge 1/8 tracks, it has forced me to become a better driver. It is a real challenge to drive the sc10 4x4 hard on a big 1/8 track. This past weekend was the first time I felt that i was going backward instead of forwards with my skill.
I always seem to overachive on race day, well not this weekend
