Got a Tekin 2050kv RX8 combo on my serpent 811be

Everything set up perfectly, solder on great. Motor does not run if I plug in sensor wire. Tried replacing the sensor wire but still same. (servo works with it plugged in but no throttle) If I take it off the wire, motor runs... any help would be appreciated.

FYI

I setup the same on my Losi SCTE 4600kv rx8. w/ sensor wire (works fine)

Both cars on programmed to my Spektrum DX3s
Might want to try posting your question on this thread.

Found an aluminum servo arm that fits pretty good.

Default -2 hubs

Hideeho
I've got an interesting request.

If any of you have the -2 hubs could you mount them up & give me an actual measurement of the width w/ wheels? I know it's an 8th scale & listed @ 305mm, therefore should be 301mm w/ the -2 hubs, but I have seen other buggies get a -2 hub & be a measured 295mm.

If you have an AE sc8 I would be VERY interested in the width with those wheels mounted up with the -2 hubs in particular.

In case you haven't guessed yet, I'm looking at converting an 8th scale e-buggy into a 10th scale short course truck. I've seen the thread where someone did this with an AE RC8Be, so I know it is possible. After talking to Billy this weekend & watching how his buggy got around my local track I am VERY impressed. If I can get one of these cut down to 296mm, this would make the ultimate 4x4 sc truck. Bullet proof, incredible handling, & able to jump back 8th buggy with very few changes. Heck, if 8th sc ever takes off just change to the truggy arms, chassis, & drive shafts & your in business there also!

Finally ended the build.

Just like it is in the photos (with servo, esc and motor, but with no wires, no lipos and no receiver) it has 3060 grams.

It has alu servo-saver, alu wing mount posts and alu wing washers.
There are no plastic nut or washer, all alu.

5000/5000/2000, webbed bladers + 8 hole regular pistons (35 losi front / 30 losi back)

Let's us know how the IX8 works for you. I'm considering that Esc as well. Has anyone tried the IX8? If so I would love to hear how it performs and if it is as smooth as the TC

Default Tapered pistons vs Conical pistons

For those of you that have them I just want to make sure I am understanding your meaning correctly. At present Serpent only offers Conical pistons as an option, at least on the Amain website. I have not seen a tapered piston option. For those that are unclear in the difference here you go:

- Conical cut refers to a radiused surface on one side of the piston, usually the compression side.
- Tapered cut refers to the holes and their orientation to the horizontal surface of the piston face. Stock are straight cut, holes are drilled at 90 degrees to the horizontal plane. Wereas tapered pistons are cut at an angle as they pass through the piston body. As for the fluid dynamics bit, well that's outside my pay grade!

Does Serpent offer a tapered piston? If so, where do you find it?
