Ran the CRE Nova Plus 4 BTTA today with a 2096/44021 pipe and header with a Werks medium clutch. This is without a doubt my new favorite buggy engine
I have less than a half gallon on it and it still pulls hard and has plenty of low end grunt. This engine is so smooth it feels like you are going slower than other engines I have run but the lap times do not lie. It IS fast and deceptively quick.
The track was extremely grooved up. Tons of traction and any engine lacking down low became very obvious. Not the CRE Nova BTTA.
Thanks again Neal and Jon for an awesome engine.

Well I'm finally stepping into nitro from electric. I just ordered the Mugen MBX6T. So next thing on the list is to p/u a clocked engine and pipe combo. What would be the best engine for $400 or less. I have heard good things about the Nova P5XLT for $299 but just want to double check and see if there is anything better for the $400 range.
I run on a medium size track so rarely do people get to completely hammer it. So more low to mid power would be more important than a really high top end.
Then I need to match it up with a pipe so any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

John, any motor coming out of the Clocked Camp is going to have enough power. Coming from Electric your going to want the most consistent/stable and reliable mill. As of right now in the price range your looking at P5 (with 086 or 2058) sounds like your best bet...maybe +4...My answer to your question a year ago would have been different. The above mentioned qualities are what I look for in a mill, and I have 2 new P5's sitting on the bench....Brian

+3. I have been running CRE engines for 3 years. Never before have I seen Neal take an engine that could be considered a mild motor and do so much to it! The overall powerband is now just ballistic! It's hard to explain but it's smooth and insane at the same time, with incredible bottom end for that instant power when you need it coupled with really good runtimes, very easy to tune and the best carb on the market. For the price of this engine it is IMO the best Neal has to offer.
